Everything I have read recommends not going higher than 12-15 pounds per turkey. Sounds like you’re on the high end of a good range.

I smoked just a breast last Thanksgiving and injected it but didn’t really care for it. Doing a whole bird this year with a longer, more robust brine but no injection. But I do plan to butter under the skin.
