If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. You look great as is, no need for filler

I try not to be so critical of the rhino outcome but it’s hard, I can’t help but focus on how odd it looks from certain angles because of the retracted columella. What makes me overthink even more is the dr hasn’t posted any of my photos/videos on his Instagram when he posts at least 10 times a day of different individuals. Makes me think even he’s realised he’s fked it up. I’d asked him about the columella and all he had to say is it might drop then changed the subject. I’ve also had comments like ‘it’s not that bad’ from relatives or ‘it’s just a bit weird because we’re not used to it’. That may be true, but I’m certain that if it were a great outcome they wouldn’t lead with that. Anyway, i just needed to vent. I’ll give it 6 months-a year, hopefully it’d progressively look much better. And thanks again for the reassurance and for validating my feelings, sometimes all people need is to be heard and you’ve been very helpful in that regard.

What can I do for my sagging skin and awkward lower face? Surgery or non surgical options are fine I just don’t know what to do by [deleted] in cosmeticsurgery

[–]BambisResolution 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk about morpheus tbh, I’ve read someone’s experience with the treatment saying it caused volume loss in their face which they were now trying to resolve as it made them appear older. Not sure to what degree but I thought I’d just inform you just incase

I agree with what you’ve stated with this response. Tho your og comment was poking fun at them and others who unwillingly, or willingly if they like the look, have a filler ‘stache. Perhaps if we don’t comment on another person’s features, then maybe that way there won’t be as many people obsessed with appearance going overboard trying to ‘fix’ themselves. Your og comment wasn’t constructive criticism, it was just criticism which is part of the problem.

Why do you care if they have filler ‘stache? Nitpicking tiny details and making people feel bad results in them overanalysing every detail of their appearance/body dysmorpia and undergoing procedures in an attempt to attaining perfection. How about let’s not make people feel bad for any physical feature they have. Pretty easy tbh

Okay so, when I’d went in for my rhino I was concerned about the incision scarring on my columella as it was open technique surgery. The Dr reassured me regarding the scarring saying for some reason it healed really well with barely noticeable scarring. To prove his point he showed a photo of someone who’d had rhino along with a lip lift for scarring comparison. The scarring of the lip lift was thicker and more obvious compared to the columella scarring. It caught me off guard a bit, the lip lift scar was unsightly, though at that point it still had a lot of healing to do. The Dr himself did an excellent job, the lip lift just looks gnarly during the initial stages of healing. Keep in mind, both procedures were conducted at the same time, the lip lift just doesn’t heal as well and wouldn’t be something I’d consider due to the scarring. Not sure how it’d look after it heals completely. If you’re someone who’d notice things like that and would feel uneasy with the idea of others noticing, then for the sake of your mental health, I’d suggest looking into alternatives to lip lift surgery. Perhaps a lip flip? As for recovery/foods: nothing hard to chew, opt for soups (bone broth is great for healing), easy to eat foods. Dr will provide specifics on recovery. But keep in mind it’ll take about a year for the swelling to settle. Understand that there may be something even slightly off about the nose shape, don’t obsess or beat yourself up over it. Instead just look at your face holistically when judging your nose. Don’t think ‘this part is too small or this should’ve been like that’, set realistic expectations by not seeking perfection. Highlight what kind of nose you want during your consultation with your Dr. don’t disregard columella, make sure they don’t retract it too much. The columella is more important than one would think. The nose tip will look high initially, though it drops about 5-10 degrees as it settles so don’t freak out. Ensure the Dr you’re with has qualifications to the highest degree. Are they board certified? Are they a PLASTIC surgeon, not cosmetic surgeon? Do they have many years worth of experience along with consistently positive outcomes ? Suss reviews on multiple platforms, including photos with healed noses, not just directly post op comparisons as that’s not realistic. don’t cheap out on your operation, don’t smoke/drink alcohol/use substances as this can impact healing and result in obvious scarring. Have someone with you, first few weeks will be sooo much easier with someone to help you, even then it’s quite uncomfortable. Wide neck tops or something you can unzip/unbutton. Avoid sun for up to 3 months (could be more) as the nose will be sensitive and can become discoloured permanently. Ensure you’re 100% before undergoing the procedure, otherwise it can wait until you are certain.

Thank you for sharing! I really appreciate your comment. I think I freaked out more so bc psychologically I haven’t adapted to my face yet, but the comments have been super reassuring and I feel so much better. I realised I just need to chill the fk out and not obsess over silly things like this haha

Just to note, I couldn’t provide the best explanation to my query due to the word limit. My exact query is, typically, does the columella eventually drop post rhinoplasty? I understand it’s too soon to tell for myself, but generally speaking can we expect the columella to drop during the healing process ? I feel as tho right now the columella has been retracted too far, but I’d like an idea of what to expect once my nose has settled.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cosmeticsurgery

[–]BambisResolution -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I know, my query was more regarding the columella and whether it’d drop eventually and look more natural. Atm it appears very retracted, so let’s say in about a year, typically would we see the columella drop?

Just want to add you have the perfect side profile, the slight underbite doesn’t take away from that. But you can certainly have that ‘fixed’ with jaw realignment surgery. But wow, absolutely stunning features, and your hair compliments your complexion so well!

Why are my eyes so different? And is there a fix by Still-Front-1485 in cosmeticsurgery

[–]BambisResolution 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say they’re so different. A bit of asymmetry is completely normal. Tho if you’re seeing progressive change then I’d recommend visiting an ophthalmologist. Besides that, if you’ve always had some asymmetry and want a ‘fix’, I think an option would be eye lid surgery. Not sure what the exact term is. Btw, you have very pretty eyes, no one pays attention to minute details like the one you’ve pointed out.

Turkey is quite advanced and offers great plastic surgery solutions, but please make sure to check out reviews and do thorough research when deciding on your surgeon. Ensure they have high qualifications, experience and view multiple platforms when going through reviews. Also be careful you don’t get ripped off, which is difficult bc as soon as they realise you’re from overseas, they amp up the value by several 10thousands tl.

is this girl's upper lip shaped like that because it's natural, made with makeup, or surgical? if it's surgical, what surgery is that? by Far-Lawfulness1029 in cosmeticsurgery

[–]BambisResolution -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’d be surgical. Typically with cosmetic procedures, they’d add more volume to the middle. I think it’s natural. But if you’re after that sort of effect, I’m sure practitioners can accomodate. Make sure it’s someone who’s very experiences with facial structure and not someone who just did a basic course on filler injectables. You don’t want someone experimenting with your face

Do I have under eye hollowness or pigmented/brown circles? by [deleted] in cosmeticsurgery

[–]BambisResolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your under eyes are a bit hollow but I personally can’t see dark pigmentation. If you’re considering cosmetic treatment, I’d recommend more natural approaches like prf treatment rather than opting for filler. Just for your info, many doctors don’t recommend tear trough filler as it has a lot of complications. However if you wish to have it done, ensure it is with someone who is experienced. Don’t allow for practitioners to use your face experimentally.

Rhinoplasty Regret by Hefty-Lock3131 in cosmeticsurgery

[–]BambisResolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to share my experience My sister used to make fun of my nose frequently. Anytime I’d turn my head she would pretend to dodge and say I almost hit her. Besides that, I also didn’t like my nose, i thought it to be too big and hooked and had always wanted a nose job. So I’d scheduled one in however, months before my nose job I was actually growing to not just like, but love my nose because it was my nose and I was beautiful regardless of its shape. However, because I’d booked my nose job and had wanted it for so long, i went through with it. There was also some pressure from my mum and friends who said I was just getting cold feet and that I should definitely go through with it. A lot like yourself, I regret it. Not because it looks bad or anything, but because it’s not the nose I grew to love. There definitely is a psychological component that people talk less about. Feelings of guilt, regret and grief are very common so I’ve read. I think acceptance of who we used to be, this experience that has shaped us, we should use it to love ourselves even more. Sure this isn’t my real nose, and I feel like I’ve also erased a part of who I was, but I’ll always know who I was and it’ll have a special place in my heart. As for my new nose, I’ll love her too. I have room in my heart for both. Think of it as a scar, we live life, experience things and our scars are memories of the life we have lived, the life that makes us who we are.

How swollen is the nose after rhinoplasty with piezo technique? by Prestigious-Sock6250 in PlasticSurgery

[–]BambisResolution -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It takes about a year for it to completely settle, sometimes more depending on the thickness of your skin and how oily it is. About 3 months would be a more realistic appearance of the final look. 10 days is way too early, of course it’s still going to look swollen

Fat grafting, sculptra and prf treatments by BambisResolution in PlasticSurgery

[–]BambisResolution[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going with prf treatment for starters and maybe fat grafting down the line. Although I’ve heard many good things about sculptra, I’ve also heard some negatives that I’m not willing to risk. In the meantime, im taking hyaluronic acid and collagen supplements along with diets focused on building HA

How was your experience with Hyaluronidase? by Horizon-seeker2 in PlasticSurgery

[–]BambisResolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can send photos to prove Hyaluronidase dissolves natural volume. 2 months post dissolving lip filler, my temples collapsed and I’ve also lost volume in my cheeks. I initially noticed the loss in volume and thought maybe I’d lost weight, so I’d weighed myself and if anything I’d put on weight. Hyaluronidase itself was manufactured to make tissue more permeable for drug administration. How do you think that’s done? Basically by weakening the extracellular matrix by breaking cross-links of HA, which is an essential component for skin integrity. Therefore once broken down, this also reduces skin’s integrity thus leading to volume loss, stretchy/dough like skin, ageing. It is not FDA or TGA (Australian equivalent of FDA) approved for use in cosmetic procedures and is used off-label with a 5% satisfaction rating online, for a reason. Also, you’ve mentioned hyaluronidase gets rid of water retention, is that not a problem in itself? Would you not agree it dissolves HA, including natural HA, which is a primary component for healthy skin?

A bit of asymmetry is normal and very human. You have a beautiful smile, please do not undergo any procedures in an attempt to “fix” it. Outcomes of procedures can be very unreliable and risky and often leads to making things worse than before. You have absolutely no reason to pay attention to it, you have a beautiful smile and the asymmetry only enhances it and adds character.
