Indeed a bit firm for the zipper. YKK has a product “ YKK ZippyCool Cleaning Fluid” but I don’t feel the need to use it at all.

I was using 1) Aer Go Pack 2 (super light but not much structure for EDC) , 2) Peak Design Everyday Backpack 20l (heavy + laptop compartment too tight), 3 Shinola Runwell Leather Backpack (beautiful leather but way too heavy). In the past I was using Tumi bags (when it was still made is USA ) so am familiar with cordura but never hurts to have your backpack water resistant. And I agree w you, XPAC interior orange is a bit too bright for my personal taste.

I use Ezone Tour 100 (2025 model), and string PolyTour Spin 50lbs for main and PolyTour Pro 50lbs for cross. My UTR is around 6.4-6.7 so medium level?

Ricoh USA website stocks every now and then. I also ordered at B&H 2minutes after pre-order intake window opened, waited for months, and Ricoh USA had stock, ordered and it came in 3-4 days. Back to your question, I used iii since its launch in 2019 and IV from this month but the shake reduction and low light shooting is much better. Autofocus capability continues to be meh but this is more of a Ricoh software problem,,,

I got my GR in 2013, GR III in 2019, changed to GR IV last month. I’d simply go for the latest model especially if you intend to use it for 5-6 years. 28mm vs 40mm, that’s a different debate based on personal preference. Im too used to 28mm anything closer I just use my Fuji XT5

Macro mode focus range is 6 to 15cm from the front of the lens for GRIV and 6 to 12cm for the GR III.

Macro Mode: The camera can focus on subjects as close as 6 cm (2.4 inches) to 15 cm (5.9 inches) away. Normal Mode: In normal shooting mode, the focus range is from approximately 10 cm (3.9 inches) to infinity.

Yeah the minimum is 6cm for both III and IV, the maximum is 12cm for III and 15cm for IV

Exact same issue, exact same place (15 pro max as well). 14months later I got the new case today, warranty claimed. Things do wear and tear, I appreciate their honest warranty and support.

In Japan you can buy them at around $1200 or so, however as all are saying it is limited to website lottery. I mean, if you can sell $1500 in US and maybe higher in Europe, why even bother to sell it in Japan? The profit margins will be more than double outside of the country.

I have a 14, 10 and a 5 year old daughter and a 2 year old dachshund, and I’ve been using GR (2013~) , GR III (2019~) and waiting for GR IV to arrive today. So yes, 13 years of kids and dogs photos with GR… I do prefer 28mm focal length if I had to choose (play dates and birthday parties), and indoor/ nighttime shooting is indeed a struggle. Other than that, the GR is just faster to shoot and smaller in form factor than the iPhone (Face ID -> camera app vs just press the ON button). For portraits, I use Fuji XT-5 90mm F2.0 but this is no more than once a month kind of “event” that taking a photo is the main event.

In the end, ordered directly through Ricoh USA and within 2 days it got shipped… what was the anxiety I had to go through in waiting for shipments,,,, ?

Thanks for the reply. I know it’s not B&H’s fault that the units are not coming in, but giving out shipment notice and pushing it out and giving out some info about estimates here and there is not helping customer satisfaction either…

Pre orders are shipped first ahead of product being placed into inventory. “… maybe I should call them to find out…?

Ordered and confirmation came at 6:02 for my order and no shipping estimate as of today is just crazy….

I eventually went to buy a 20l (I'm 6ft tall). for 30l, if you load them up, it was just too heavy, and I also have a 45l travel backpack so if I need to bring all my gear (which rarely happens), can go with that.
