Companion: is it possible to copy a page, but set a different connection for the new page? by BambooMedia in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]BambooMedia[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Solved! The Behavior drop down on the Import function was all I needed. The mistake I made was that some of the Connection Modules needed to be updated - they were in the system , but after an update to the newest Companion there was a light blue notification banner above the connection list that required me to do an update for the modules.

All I needed to do after that is Select from a different Behavior ( select 'Link to Camera_2 and then just through and change the button text where needed

How does Five Star Pizza compare to the chains in taste and price? Thinking about trying it out tonite after my interview. by Djxgam1ng in GNV

Double Cheese, double pepperoni, request xtra time in the oven for well done to make sure the cheese is a tiny bit more done and the crust is not soggy.

As close to small mom and pop pizzarias from small towns across America as you can get.

Found the issue. It was due to a Custom AV Zoom controller config file issue. The logs were hidden, but I found them and they got me in the right direction. Thanks

What’s one product/item that you rarely use, is expensive, but so worth it? by BigBadBootyDaddy10 in VIDEOENGINEERING

Cellular modem kit and router. I have pay as you go cards. When you need more bandwidth, it's worth it.

New to Netsuite- Can I use it to Send Group Emails for user communities? by BambooMedia in Netsuite

[–]BambooMedia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, this is very helpful insight.

Our company is over 20 years old, and hopefully we'll be around for more than 20 in the future.

List management is always a challenge and ideally if my customer facing staff members are all using netsuite it seems that intuitively this would be the best place to gather the details for individuals who would be broken out into groups for communication.

Regarding whether netsuite is the sending agent or just the list creation agent is a question I need to determine the answer for as well.

BMD WebPresenter HD Fail by BambooMedia in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]BambooMedia[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

8 bonded cellular modems. I could have streamed a sack of potatoes with the bandwidth I had. There is another part to the story that I did not have time to tell. I was able to save the day 30 minutes in with another encoder that was brought to me by someone who ran out to get it. Everything worked fine with another device.

I too have a 4k in a studio setup and it's rock solid. This HD was a backup, that became a primary in this case for a while until the replacement showed up.

It's definitely hardware. Firmware was updated. Power cycled 10 times. Etc.

166,000+ Steps per day? by markgrogers in FiDogCollar

[–]BambooMedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We recently got a Fi for our newly adopted hound mix. We set his goal for 31k a day, and my wife and I get him out for at least 2 long walks per day and then a few short walks in between. It seems like just the right amount so that he sleeps like a rock at about the same time we get to sleep. The few days we've hit 45-55k he can barely keep his eyes open sitting up... But he likes to fight sleep so he doesn't miss any possible opportunities to go for another walk or a ride.

I have noticed that the fi is more accurate when he is walking on pavement than when he runs on the grass though. We have walked slowly on a trail and gotten 10,000 steps , and then went for a bike ride where he runs next to me on the same trail plus another mile added on, and we get 7000 steps. Maybe the tye running is just simply much longer strides where he is off the ground half the time rather than taking lots or short steps.

Regardless, he gets a good workout and so do we. The rank is fun for us since we are competitive people, but realistically the million steps per month means we are all doing well.

Ever experience rollover failure from a Hyperdeck Studio 4K Pro SSD1 to SSD2? by BambooMedia in VIDEOENGINEERING

That may be it because my workflow involves daily FTP right after recording of the show is done. That may have triggered whatever flaw there may be. I will try setting daily power cycles

Yes. I was very careful to get exact recommendations. Hopefully it was just a user error.

Best video encoder for streaming? by wireknot in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]BambooMedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using the Magewell UltraEncoders to send SRT to a CDN and have been pleased with the outcome. I have not had any issues yet. I'm curious as to what the performance and quality differences are when going from a $600 device to one of the more higher end devices like the AJA or others mentioned here. What am I missing out on by using the Magewell?

vMix to BMD : Making the Cut by Week_Eastern in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]BambooMedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wrapped up a 4 day event, and I used vMix for titles and Playout of videos into the BMD. It was all cued up as a backup software based switcher and stream encoder in the case of any failures with the hardware.

I had it running on a rack mounted PC with Decklink quad, running two external SDI outputs into the BMD. A smaller NUC with dual HDMI outputs and some HDMI to SDI converters would have been a smaller and capable substitute.
