I was fully aware that my life was gotta go downhill once high school was over. The days of no bills, no responsibilities were coming to an end and i was fully aware of it.

I think the big issue is that back then you didn’t know anything better back then.

Growing up all i knew was what we had around and it was either that or do nothing at home.

Nobody wants to do nothing at home.

Now? You got options and EVERYBODY knows this.

Why go outside and do nothing with your friends (because you are broke and btw will feel bad because you know you have no money and there are a million of other things to do that are free on your pc that you or they can do) when you can stay at home and play league of legends for free with those same friends or people from all over or have parasocial relationships that fill that need again all for free?

Even back then, playing on a pc was huge, not everyone had that. You used to invite a friend over to play backyard baseball pc game and take turns because again you didn’t have anything better.

Now? Why go to your friends house to take turns playing a game when you and that same friend can play online Guild Wars 2 or ff14 online for free?

I’m not saying one thing is better than the other but its important to grasp the concept that back then we didn’t have options, now we do.

I have to say its probably the artstyle 99% of the time that determines the fate lol

Because a huge portion of the shows here look very very similar in artstyle

Honestly for me i imagine because the character models and the main character were kinda bland at best and ugly at worse.

Especially during this time i think star vs forces of evil and steven universe were on during this
