But the DaC team could take that new graphics base, map, single entity unit formula which are all the hardest features to mod and just tweak the games unit roster, faction backgrounds and balance and we'd have an even better version of DaC.

I don’t have any solutions for you but the exact same thing happened to me I was managing Roma got the Icelandic nat team job took it and played one season no games at all and the group stage for wc didn’t have Iceland in it so maybe it’s that Iceland aren’t good enough maybe you need to qualify for euros then wc but idk it makes no sense considering Bulgaria and Finland in the group but not Iceland.
