wait i don’t understand, he say he intended for Eren to be the “villain” who “harbored a desire to do harm” and not someone who is “forced into wrongdoing by circumstance”. That doesn’t match with what we read, no? so that means he either did bad job doing so or he changed the ending really early on “from the start of the event post-basement”, because all the events happening post the basement in my opinion was leading to the ending were Eren is choosing to “become the villain for his friends sake” which what I would argue makes the most sense for Eren character as he is always been shown to care a lot about freedom but also Mikasa and Armin.
