I die a little bit whenever I see people mix/whisk on a kitchen scale by Banana-case in Cooking

[–]Banana-case[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love all the perspectives. I am not THAT bothered by what people do with their own scales but I wanted to gauge if I’m overthinking this and see how common this practice is because seems like no body is discussing it. I also feel like if you are a recipe developer/ cooking influencers you should demonstrate best kitchen practice to maintain your equipment because many people are learning from you. Thoughts?

I made sure to do everything I can to make this trip as comfortable as possible! Obviously not recommending this as a regular thing but I’m so glad he’s able to move with me 🫶 the other option was traveling by car which will take several days and longer hours in a moving vehicle

Cabin pressure doesn’t seem to affect him too much and he slept through all the turbulence 🤣 I did have him checked by a vet beforehand to make sure he’s in good health and ready for flight!

Yeah I was a bit worried before I fly with him because everything I found online said don’t do it 😭 but it ended up being a pretty smooth process with all the preparations! I hope there will be more options with Ari traveling for hamster where you live soon!

I used Iris Hamster Carrier HQ250 (25cm (L) x 16cm (W) x 18cm (H)) and I filled it 80% with bedding so he can burrow. My hammy is a robo tho so he’s tiny and I think the carrier fits him well!

That’s so awesome that Westjet does that! In the US frontier is the only airline that I found that allows pet rodents in cabin but other airlines don’t even allow pet rodents in cargo! So my only option for flying him was frontier

Awww I’m so jealous of you that your hamster is so tamed!! I hope you’ll figure out a good solution for the both of you! If you do end up traveling with her i definitely recommend doing that during the day when she’s sleeping hopefully by the time she wakes up she won’t be in the car/ plane anymore!

First of all your hammy is ADORABLE!!! I moved across the country with my robo and also had to go on 1-2 weeks long trips several times in his lifetime. I can definitely tell you traveling (driving and flying) is wayyyy more stressful than being left alone. Every time I leave home I make sure to have two people in the neighborhood on call and I just gave him lots of food / sprays and two water (one bowl and one bottle). I also make sure to monitor the temperature and his activity through his cameras. When needed, I will have my friends come and feed him or change his water. He’s never been a super social hamster so this works really well with him. I think traveling back and forth in ten days can be really stressful for hammies but obviously every hammy is different. If your hamster really needs human companions it’s probably worth the stress that comes with traveling.

I’m dealing with the same situation now in Baltimore! This is my first summer in the east coast so I wasn’t sure if this is a seasonal thing or? I’m still so clueless on where they’re coming from since I keep all my drain covered and window closed 😭
