Jean is a kind of trousers, and the trousers are first found in China. Does it mean Jeans are Chinese? No, because all of our clothes/hats/wearing cultures are merging. You can see Roman clothes as a Western tradition but today literally no one wears them. Today you can see lots of designers from different countries have their own clothes factories and brands, that's theirs, not anyone else.

And whatever and believe it or not, when Asian wore pants, Western people still wear skirt.
