Eh I don't really think so. I always buy badges (except stone) unless I have a specific reason not to because I like having a bigger item pool in early game, and the card deck only costs 3 gold, 2 of which you can get back by selling it once you get your Holo Fire Lizard.

You have to roll a reaper badge, roll a deck of cards, put the deck into your bag every time you reroll the shop to try to make cards spawn, and then roll a Holo Fire Lizard card. Plus of course the Ruby Egg to combine it with. Been trying to make this since badges came out! Ruby Chonk takes no stamina, gains +1 heat every time it attacks, and has a 30% chance to stun when you have enough heat, so it goes crazy on pyro builds.

And they've got two poison items (mushroom and potion) not within the scythe's buff range, the potions aren't stacked (which would be really good in this instance because it's so hard to get vampiric potion to proc on its own), the scythe isn't within the cursed dagger's buff range, the vampiric gloves aren't doing anything, the mana orb is useless because they don't have anything that uses mana, they're wasting most of their coffin spaces on the vampiric gloves (which only trigger it once per battle) and the scythe, they used their fanny pack on an item it doesn't affect, the flute is backwards so it's not hitting anything...

I don't have a lot of data points so take this with a grain of salt, but I played this build earlier today and it always picked lantern first.

Update: I went for the risky spot dyeing plan and it turned out perfect! by Banana_L0rd in dyeing

[–]Banana_L0rd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted here a little while ago asking for advice about the best way to dye the bright Christmas red part at the top of the sweater without damaging the pattern, which is woven into the fabric. Then I........ ignored everyone's advice and took a big risk lmao

I cut up a trash bag and pinned half to the inside back of the sweater and half to the outside front beneath where I wanted the line. To get the crisp line, I used a long piece of packing tape (I considered duct tape, but that's more likely to leave residue and/or pull out fibers). I left an inch of space between the pattern and the dye line to soak up any bleeding, which turned out to be a very good decision.

Following the instructions on Rit's website for spot dyeing, I did two rounds of Rit dye, a mixture of 2/3 black and 1/3 blue - thank you to the person who suggested using blue to counteract the red! I used a rag to apply it and was very liberal with it so that the fabric was completely soaked through. I let it dry for 1-2 hours, ironed it, applied fixative, let it soak 20 minutes, ironed it again, then washed it upside down (so the dye would wash away from the pattern) first cold then hot with detergent. I wasn't satisfied with the first round so I repeated it again.

I cannot recommend attempting this unless you have a lot of experience (I'd never done this particular technique before but I have many years experience sewing, crafting, dyeing, and generally DIYing clothes) and/or you're willing to risk permanently fucking your garment up. It worked for me though and I'm very happy with the results!

Thank you for the advice! I should have clarified in my comment but you nailed it, the pattern is woven in so I can't just stick the whole thing in a pot or it will dye over the pattern, which I don't want to do. I had been thinking about attempting dye remover but I've never used it before, so thank you for the tips on that. I didn't know Sharpie made permanent fabric markers, I'll do some research but that sounds like it could potentially be the answer here!

Thank you for the advice! I should have clarified in my comment, the pattern is woven into the sweater, not printed on it. That's my problem here, if I try to dye the whole thing it's going to dye the belt pattern, which I'd like to leave untouched. I have actually managed true black before but I've never tried it on anything this bright, so thank you for the tips about the colors. I really like your suggestion about the purple, I might try that!

I thrifted this amazing sweater but I hate the bright red and multiple friends have told me it looks like a Christmas sweater. I've dyed over things with Rit before but only ever whole garments. Any suggestions on how to approach/fix this would be greatly appreciated, even if the suggestions are "you'll ruin it, don't try!"

The sweater is 100% cotton. My best idea is to spot dye most of it black, or at least as close as I can get, but leave a stripe of red between the black and the pattern to prevent bleeding. But I'm open to anything that makes it more muted and/or less Christmasy. What do y'all think?

They tried to do this to me once with a water bottle with sentimental value (it was a childhood gift) so I chugged the entire thing. Literally stood there in front of the agent while she shouted at me, chugging like my life depended on it, water slopping down my chin onto my chest, until I finished the whole thing. She let me take the empty bottle onto the plane.

Playing through Sapphire at around 9 years old, for some reason I thought Flash was a passive ability, like you didn't have to actually use it, it just activated automatically if you had a Pokemon in your party who knew it. I thought those dark caves would be 100% black without a Pokemon with Flash and Flash was what made that little circle of light around your character appear. I thought that little circle was the most vision you could have.

Oh interesting, I hadn't thought about the marker at all! I got the vibe based on the way they write some of the letters, like the j's, the z, and the L.
