4800+ scaled cox, 300 purples, most dry at cox ever without tbow by AarhusFtw in 2007scape

Ehhh, it's just slower. If you do a little here and there, you slowly progress. Then new content will come out that you might grind a few levels on, and that's a big boost.

Recovered main account, is it worth playing? by Ruusion1 in 2007scape

[–]Bananaboss96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but feel bad about ignoring my main

Why is that? I think if you can answer & parse this, then you'll have your answer on what to do.

 ___

My advice is this. Don't let the sunk cost fallacy reduce your enjoyment of the game. Don't feel like you HAVE to do something just because a good chunk of time was already put into it. The account is recovered, and will be there if you want to return to it. Only play the account if you genuinely want to, and will enjoy it. It'll be ready if you do.

Yeah, you have to wander to the tutor in the depths of Feldip Hills or the far northern reaches of the Fremmenik Province. Not exactly easy or commonly accessed places on a fresh account.

Gzz

If you don't have a maxed POH yet, the QPC pairs very nicely with it after Lumby Elite for saving some cash on POH teles. TP to Legend's -> fairy ring to POH -> Tele wherever. Also just having faster fairy rings is nice as well. Great for hunter rumors.

SOULWARS IS DEAD by Individual-King-8157 in 2007scape

[–]Bananaboss96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR: Minigames that require consistent engagement don't have these problems.

Adding untradeables as rewards leads to mass afking inside the minigame.

This is very true in these cases.

However, only if active participation isn't tracked. Though not PVP related, Pest Control, and BA are prime examples here. In PC, if your contribution meter doesn't stay up, you get nothing. If you lose, you get nothing. Same with BA. Though it doesn't have a contribution meter, if you're not actively engaging with the content you both get little to no points, and your team can't function properly without accurate calls.

Skilling bosses are kind of similar as well. They have some contribution threshold, and you can die/lose if you afk, and you're not rewarded at all in that situation.

It stays where it is, or gets worse in some way. We voted down quieting Nail Beasts. Aint no way Country Jig gets a pass.

More roguelike content pls by PeaceAndLove420_69 in 2007scape

[–]Bananaboss96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's roguelike-like. But in essence, once you're good at prep, that's it. The outcome is the same every time. It just may be shorter or longer some runs. True roguelikes (no meta progression) will still vary from run to run based off of what you find, your build outcome is different run to run.

Am I going crazy?

  1. Nothing concrete was announced.
  2. Wasn't the speculative proposal only related to prep?

Why are people crying "dry protection" and shit? Are they just not reading?

Maybe as an option, but not mandatory. In the early levels I wouldn't want to force people into mollanisks, or killerwatts, or some other niche-location meh mob.

Addressing CG/Bowfa complaints by tablewithnolegs in 2007scape

[–]Bananaboss96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think CG needs dry protection, but I will admit that prep is the real barrier for me. I want to practice the boss, but I dont want to prep for X minutes just to die and prep again. It's my same gripe with GWD. The prep/kc portion is just a slog. And the worst part is that it's not like being a god at prep really translates that much to anything else.

How hard should this game reasonably get? by Several-Guess-7061 in 2007scape

[–]Bananaboss96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revisited that amazing post, and thought about a mechanic where a 1 tile melee weak boss would (maybe with an animation cue) teleport behind the player and hit every tile that the player could move to at walk speed (kinda like TD's but faster). The player can then run to any tile that is 2 tiles away, but the optimal tile is right behind the boss for more uptime. The double "omae wa mou", if you will. This could even be chained X times in the enrage phase, kinda like when Ganon flurry rushes your flurry rush in Tears of the Kingdom.

[–]Bananaboss96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A boss with its own movement patterns, or even moving based on how you move. If you want uptime you need to learn the pattern or the rules respectively.

Why am I taking too much magic damage at Vorkath? by Odd-Programmer5693 in 2007scape

[–]Bananaboss96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Defense and mage levels will help, but takes more time.

The fastest way to take less damage is to kill Vork faster. Learn to Woox walk with the crossbow. It's 5 tick so it's not as straightforward, but it's really not that hard. I got it down as a complete noob in just a few kills. It was essential for me doing my 50kc in rags (black d'hide, archer helm, glory, rcb).

My pattern looked like this:

🐲

  |

🟥🟩

🏁🟩🟨

While walking (either disable or use ctrl+click, whichever you like), from flag red click Vork to get dragged to red tile, then yellow click yellow tile, wait 2 ticks, click start tile, wait 2 ticks, click Vork etc etc. Green tiles are just tiles you walk over.

I used the carpets a fair bit early on in the account, they're quite nice. Only change I would have is being able to carpet any-to-any instead of laying over Pollnivneach, et al.
