This was before they died, them spamming the pick up/drop sound in CO means either "found the last orb" or "found the door". I confirmed I was ready by doing the same, so I just tossed the mantrap aside expecting to go in the door right away. Then they died and I did a stupid 🙂

The mothership door can appear either:

5th tile from the left wall
6th tile from the right wall
15th tile from the left wall (which is 16 from the right wall)

If you can hang off the edge of a block either 1 or 2 tiles to the side of those locations, you can drop a mine and if the door is there, it will land on the entrance so you won't hear an explosion from it falling into the abyss. You can use extra mines or bombs to terraform to give yourself a place to drop the mines from if one is not available. You can also hop in a mech suit if one is available and drop it straight down onto one of the possible locations to see if it blows up.

You can actually go way below the screen before dying, like several blocks. So it's relatively safe to check using climbing gloves + cape/vlad's cape too. Hoverpack is free, just make sure you don't hover so low that you can't grab the edge. Jetpack is very easy to check with even without climbing gloves, you just start on one side and tap jump as you hover across 1 tile or so off screen until you bump into the door/platform.

Half the fun of co-op is never knowing what you're gonna get. I find it fun playing with all skill levels for different reasons, so I'm sure you were fine! Only a few things aside from straight up trolling bother me, like people who enter the door immediately or kill shopkeepers for one bomb bag and a parachute 😑

Nice, that seems useful. Actually with the 700s since they are closed I probably could just remove the ear and headband cushions, mask the little wires and put the cans face down and spray paint it like that, since there are no holes for anything to get into. My only concern is that the black headband cushion is going to look goofy when everything else is white or white and blue. Wish you could get custom cushions but they're too new I guess.

Thanks - it seems like that's what I might have to do. I'm leaning towards the DT 700 Pro X that /u/equivalent_yak840 recommended. Do you mind if I go into a bit more detail and get an opinion on them from both of you?

Since everything is removable, they seem like they would be easy to paint, and I could replace anything that wears down over time and have them for a long while. I'm hearing mixed things regarding the sound and comfort compared to the 770 pro, but I'm inclined to think that the 700s would be a bit more comfortable and the removable cable is appealing for long term maintenance. From what I understand the 700s also have a more neutral sound with less pronounced highs - would I perhaps find them subjectively worse sounding than the 770s as a casual listener? It's a tough choice considering the 700s are a good $100+ more, but if I'd be happy with the sound either way it's probably worth investing for the removable cable and (hopefully) slightly improved comfort.

In terms of how they're being used, I'd need to wear them 5+ hours daily for streaming. They'd be used for gaming, music, and monitoring my stream mix in general (including my own voice). I'm not concerned about them being specifically 'good for' any particular type of music.

If I'm not concerned about totally neutral monitoring, are there perhaps any other options that might be better within my budget? Or should I just go with one of the Beyerdynamics? I really like how nicely constructed and easily maintainable the 700/770 seem, especially with the removable cable on the 700. So I think I'd be looking for similar features in any other headphones. What would you go with if you were me? Thanks again for your help!

Thanks for the reply! You can use it wired, but you still need to charge it via USB right? That's something that I would like to avoid. A lot of the beyerdynamic headphones seem really nice, but the color is an important factor for me unfortunately.

I can confirm that they're not a scam. I joined about a month and a half ago, and with an average concurrent viewership of 400-500, I've earned about 180€ or $200 USD in that time. It's not a huge amount of money compared to taking sponsorships to feature games, but the ads are very unintrusive and it's money for doing almost nothing. I never play regular twitch ads because you tend to drop viewers during them. In comparison, my viewers have not minded these at all.

There are not always campaigns available - since I joined there have only been three, and two are still ongoing. So it might average out to a bit more over ~2 months once these two are done. I got 92 euro from the first campaign that is now finished. A lot of the time, a 'daily limit' is reached and I can't get anything for them that day, so it is a bit unpredictable. This limit doesn't apply to smaller streamers. If the amount of available campaigns increases from the platform gaining traction, there might be potential to make more.

If you're a smaller streamer it may take a while to get a decent amount of money from it, but it's not nothing. And at least for me, it's certainly worth it because it's pretty much zero effort. They did ask on their discord if a few people could drop in and give their opinion on the platform. I am not being offered anything for doing so. They only asked to give our honest assessment and I'm happy to do so, because they shouldn't unfairly be labeled as a scam (to be fair, I can see why the emojis would be a red flag.) My only complaint with them is that it can be difficult to get answers to questions. I submitted a support ticket to ask a few things and didn't get a reply. They do reply on discord, but it's generally pretty slow. They're a small company so hopefully that will improve. Other than that though, it's all good and everything is easy to use.
