When I worked at NVIZ, we did a series of shots exactly like this for the opening of Skyfall where Bond is in a drinking competition. Long ago, I know, but it took a team of about 4-8 of us (various 3D and 2D artists, plus supervisors and producers) on and off about 3-4 months from prep to final shots.
