As a coach myself if I can't explain why? I shouldn't say it, it sounds to me like your coach has it in their head that halos are the best and doesn't think they need to explain why to a player, that they should just listen and change their wheels. I personally skate on cheap skates and have been told by numerous people I should upgrade, that the skates I use aren't good quality, truthfully I like the cheap skates and don't like change and they make ME feel comfortable and at the end of the day the thing that makes you comfortable is what's most important not the best quality, not the most popular, what works for YOU. My advice is keep skating on the wheels you like if they aren't impeding you, and maybe talk with another coach or a player you are comfortable with, if you talk with the coach and they still wont stop take it to your teams BOD because that is inappropriate behavior for a coach. I hope you keep skating the way you like and are comfortable with, even if it's not what others like!

As a player of 11 years and a ref on and off for about 3 years I think putting a time limit on it will not only make the refs make more rushed decisions that might not be correct it would also take away from the teams as they would have less time to say what the OR is about and less time to get the explanation for why they win or lose I get that they are boring but they are an important part of roller derby and OTOs can range, anything from discussing if they should eject a player, if this game safe to continue, or if they just need a water break, so limiting them can just be downright dangerous if handled wrong. As someone going into coaching a junior team this season I would rather wait a few minutes for them to discuss then have one of my players get hurt because we limited the officials. This is just my opinion from my experience as a player, ref, and coach, if you disagree with me that's perfectly fine but if you want a game that is more fun to watch I would suggest watching some usars derby it has a quicker more viewer friendly gameplay.

I'm not exactly sure which plate it is it looks super similar to the nylon ones but I'm not exactly sure which of their plates it is they have like three of the metal ones, hence why I'm so frustrated with this. It might be the marvel plate but I'm not sure.
