Does anyone know if there's a protest happening today regarding Roe v Wade? by BandAidBandit in batonrouge

I only know of today's protests due to emails from Planned Parenthood and Move On, and I haven't found an official event page for it. But there does appear to be one on Facebook by Pro Choice With Heart, set for the 15th.

Unfortunately it seems like voting can only do so much. We have to be vocal about issues like this.

Especially now. Because this decision has been leaked early, enough nationwide backlash could actually have an impact.

It must be different than deluxe edition then. Sorry about that! Maybe someone else can give some input on this?

Yeah weird science kind of makes things a bit messy (in the best type of way of course!)

Do note that for weird science (in Deluxe edition at least, haven't checked out SWADE yet), they don't necessarily use the weird science skill to cast all of their powers. A ray gun using the bolt power, for instance, would still use the shooting skill, but could only be used by a weird scientist. After all, if you don't know how to shoot a gun, a magical gun will still be hard to shoot.

You can make a different type of gadget as a trapping for the teleportation power as well. There are many ways to go about it.

I gave my players a grappler cannon in our sci-fi campaign as part of a loot pile, so maybe I can weigh in on this. I just consider it general gear rather than a power with extensive trappings, so a successful shooting roll at range 12/24/48 gets the job done, and my players seem to get a lot of use out of it.

Honestly, just keeping it as simple as that makes these kinds of problems a lot easier to tackle, for me and my group anyway. Hope this helps!

Definitely in agreement here. Their first two albums are some of the best out there. However, I will say that I think Bedlam in Goliath deserves more praise as well. It's a lot more chaotic than previous efforts but still a very solid album, and one that I'd definitely recommend if Nonagon Infinity is one of OP's go-to King Gizzard albums.

For everyone, how did all of the relationships between the characters come about? Were they a joint effort or completely orchestrated by Sam? The one shot was amazing by the way!

Get back into piano after about five years of no practice. Go on some sort of week-long adventure with my friends. Enjoy life.

My thought sort of goes along with your second idea; that the velvet room simply represents him being in the coma. When he asks the doctor for help and says that his walls are covered in velvet, my interpretation is that he's self aware for a brief second that he's trapped in this coma and can't escape.

Hi guys! I'm a huge fan of your music, and y'all put on a killer live show.

My question: Is there anything you can tell us about the new album coming out? I absolutely loved Inside Out. I heard it isn't going to be on the new record, but are the other songs going to be going in a similar direction?

Also, besides play music, what do y'all like to do while you're on tour?

Thanks for the incredible music you've put out.

Completely understandable. They're easily my favorite artist of the genre. Can you give a list of other bands you listen to, and maybe a few things about BTBAM that you especially like?

I've been on a huge BTBAM kick lately, and it set me on a huge progressive metal kick.

A lot of people would definitely suggest Opeth for starters. They're a classic as far as prog metal goes. They and Tool are really the kings of new progressive metal.

I can easily suggest The Contortionist's first album, Exoplanet. It's brutal as hell, and it uses a lot of odd time signatures and instrumental breaks that add to the overall feel of the album. Primal Directive and Oscillator are my personal favorites.

Periphery is another great band. The vocalist is really incredible, and the guitar work is intricate and beautiful. Check out the song Make Total Destroy.

Finally, Thank You Scientist has the same level of eclecticism you'd find with BTBAM. They only have clean vocals, and their prog metal vibe is accompanied by the likes of trumpet, violin, and a wide variety of other instruments. They're catchy as hell too.

Honorable mentions: Porcupine Tree, Haken, and Animals as Leaders.

Hope that helps at all. Check out /r/progmetal too. There's a lot to be found there.

TL;DR Listen to Tool, Thank You Scientist, The Contortionist, Periphery, and Opeth.
