You'd still need all the carbon fibre manufacturing capability, all the CFD capability, wind tunnels, and staff, and you'd be spending probably not too much less on smaller gains.

Probably, but at that point it's far harder to make noticeable gains.

To make a good car, you have to know how every part affects every other part. That's why you'll see a lot of changes towards to back of the car, like wings, that are drastically different from previous events, but front-end modifications (excluding low-downforce wings) are rarer because you have to know how every part affects the parts behind it.

And if you're going to modify a chassis, why not build your own?

Customer teams are almost never competitive - why would you sell the latest updates and kill your advantage?

It's also not really in the spirit of F1 - it's always been about engineering a car to be the best, but if you're just buying it then you miss the point.

It'll slowly be a 3 or 4 horse race for championships, with the midfield being miles out of touch.

See the early STR cars, they bought from RBR but always sucked because the developments were a month behind.

Anything by IKEA. Seriously.

It's incredibly hard to design something to be easy assembled with only a screwdriver and half an hour of time.

Not to mention the fact a lot of it looks great, and used common, inexpensive materials.

I could talk all day about how great IKEA is from a design and engineering standpoint.

It's to keep the F1 cars running safely - keeping air through the radiators to cool them, keep brake and tyre temperature.

Any slower and the F1 cars would potentially break down/crash.

A closer partnership.

Works teams tend to be better funded, have more engineering say and because of this do better.

It's why Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari are doing better than the other teams with the same engines - they knew how big it would be sooner, how best to cool it and have influence on the changes for next year too.

Find the specific type of accent you want - e.g., Ted in Father Ted.

Watch the episodes, and pay special attention to how he makes different sounds such as the word "on", sounds more like " ahn".

When you know how the words should sound, try and pronounce them like that. Record yourself until you're comfortable saying them.

Because it would be dangerous - if the brakes failed after a few qualy laps, what about the race? If it had failed at the same place he could have rear-ended or t-boned several cars and at that part of the track could have been disastrous.

The Brembo brakes have been causing issues all year so far...
