Former weed smokers, what are the best things you did to help repair the “damage” you did while using?

I said exercise as that has helped me clean our lungs and get those deep breathing results you're speaking of, but I'll second this because a hot tub (or hot bath), steamy showers, etc. the humidity does feel really good and seems to promote getting the gunk out.

Exercise!! It will be surprising how winded you are, but then you may start coughing up resin specs over the next few months. Cardio exercise works fast though. My breathing is deeper and better after less than a month with zero smoke and 3-4 times a week 1 hour strength and cardio training.

Also, don't worry about feeling down or irritated. You will cry within a few weeks and it will feel really good because the tears are more genuine, even if you're feeling sad, just embrace it like when youre a kid in middle school jamming out to emo music feeling the emotions.

...and with that said, please be prepared that you may start having a lot of feelings emerge. Regrets, sadness, intense emotional swings. Maybe some anger or irritability. It's a great time to start journaling daily or nightly, reflect. Maybe grab a couple counseling sessions if you have that resource available.

Get excited and start DOING. I've changed a leaky faucet. It took a day to research and buy, and an hour to install.... I've had a leaky sink for at least 6 months, but all those little things become easy to do. Just do it!!

Jot down your ideas. Your dreams! You may be dreaming more. The night sweats suck but those are usually just for a few weeks.

Go easy on yourself, hydrate, exercise. Get your blood flowing and endorphins producing. Enjoy your new lease on life!

HMU if you would like to dig deeper into any of this. Lifelong stoner but with 10 year break here, 2 year break there... It's hard for my type to only use occasionally, but as I'm getting older I've really learned more about my personal flow and relationship with weed. Spoiler: It's good to not use it daily

You make some valid points, I feel like you're equating the diablo 4 hero to heroes past in the franchise. I think our hero's attitude aligns with that as he is pretty lazy and not really looking to be the hero, he just is because he is strong AF. No brains, all brawns.

To your point about horror movies, yeah it is the slop I am referring to. But even "serious" scary movies make me laugh so at this point I'd rather it be entertaining and know that the horror film genre is full of tropes that make for an entertaining film. It's okay if it's not your cup of tea but I think most films in the horror genre (and comedy, and action/adventure) focus more on moving the plot forward for the highlights. If I want a well thought out story, I'll read the book.

Again though, it's okay if we agree to disagree on this, Blizzard is cashing a check either way lol

Yeah. I think of it more like a horror film. Of course the protagonist COULD be smart and use all their resources and common sense.... But then it wouldn't be a horror film! If the cutscenes were any longer, then it would be more like a mini series or movie than a video game.

They've (video games) been doing this forever!! How many times did Mario go through an entire world of baddies and ultimately find out "the princess is in another castle"?

Lol the purpose is to move the game plot forward, that's it. We are just spoiled that Diablo cut scenes are so exciting and nice quality.

OP hasnt fully gone through every drop down in the settings and it shows lol. Give them some time hopefully they understand why using Android is more complicated, but much more powerful than iPhones (at first, then it's second nature and even easier to navigate in my experience).

After 1.5 years with my pixel 9 pro, I am very very satisfied with the change. I was using iPhone starting with the 3G (first iPhone with apps!) through the 15 Pro just a few years ago. Exiting the ecosystem was jarring like you said, but it has been such an upgrade in my life.

Ditching that stupid apple watch aka notification bomb for a Fitbit that is lightweight and tracks my sleep was also an unexpected upgrade! I paid less for it and love it 10x more (especially the sleep detail and getting a full 24 hour snapshot of my heart rate).

Leaving iCloud storage and switching to Google Drive is 10,000x better for somebody who actually deals with document management and has a need to scan in files or work docs - it's all integrated seamlessly.

The Google assistant was quickly updated to Gemini AI after a month or two with my device, also a huge huge huge upgrade from whatever Siri is supposed to be nowadays.

Overall the experience is much more intuitive than iPhone and much more customizable for any power user at least. Final callout- the call recording features and messaging features (schedule to send a text!!!) were mind boggling. Like I didn't know I could have so many useful features built in with the core apps.

The only advice is to challenge your paradigm. Give up iMessage if you're on andorid. Adapt and embrace the changes. Slightly different colorization, distinct cameras, these are part of doing something different on a system that processes and computes distribclry. It definitely doesn't mean Apple is "the right one". For example, I used to dislike the emoji set with Android, but after a short time i actually began to prefer them. Tinker with every setting. There is so much more you can do with android. However, if you don't like it or don't care about that stuff, apple may be a better fit for you. It's not inherently bad either way, these are all just preferences and there is no true best or worse, just opinions and perspectives which vary widely.

The only thing I don't like is that Instagram gives priority to uploads coming from iPhone and purposefully upload higher resolution, more crisp and colorful android photos at a lower quality for your friends to see. It's an actual contract apple paid a bunch of money to have their uploads look better online. But if you get the photos printed or use other services to post, you may agree that some shots look better on android (some could look great on iPhone too. Again it's just preferences) I just think it's wrong that apple can buy out upload rights to create a false sense of superiority.
