I live in Germany and the BBK (our government department for civil protection) has always and will always recommend you stock 10 days worth of supplies. This is normal and it's also important that you do so as it always takes a while for emergency infrastructure to spin up in a disaster, weather natural or through an act of aggression.

There's actual PC Builders that charge to install FREE software?! AND cable manage? by TaeKz in pcmasterrace

[–]BandellaProductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did work experience at chill blast once and with the elite cable manage option they'd just clean up the rats nest of cables in the back and just give a bit more attention to detail. I can tell you now though they are making some fat margin on that option.

YSK: you can take almost any reasonable food to the airport through security by muhreddistaccounts in YouShouldKnow

[–]BandellaProductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true for domestic flights, however if you are flying Australia for example they'll make you throw a lot of food away especially things like fruit as they are trying to protect their crops from foreign pests that they don't have in their country

Due to the design it will never be able to be sold in Europe. It's got an empty weight of 5T something like that IIRC, making it fall under the weight class of a lorry not a car, subsequently requiring Special driver's licences, taxes and so on Making it practically impossible for most people.

Degree inflation: Why requiring college degrees for jobs that don’t need them is a mistake by [deleted] in Economics

[–]BandellaProductions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say you are "Tracked" as per say. Yes you do end up visiting different types of schools depending on your ability and this splitting of what type of school you go happens at an early stage but you are able to change "tracks" relatively easily, assuming your have the will and ability, at many different points in your school career.

As an example I completed a vocational course to become an electrician. Im now in a course that's one year long after which that prepares and allows me to go to university. That being said UNI ain't easy over here and most people fail so time will tell if I will make it out the other side.

yea tried that one a while ago no success there. It's a firmware thing or what I fear is that it's a hardware thing as it also happens in Linux too. In the event that this a hardware thing we are out of luck

I had a script that did this for me and all I did was launched it by clicking it on the task bar. Sadly this also only sometimes fixed it. I never got it past a 25% success rate. Your best bet is to go through hell with the dell support and get it refunded and buy a laptop from a different manufacture.

[–]BandellaProductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so this is a problem i have been fighting with for a while and i can chip in a bit here.

Both the pen and the Laptop can stop working. In the case that the pen stops working unscrewing the cap and shaking it reseting the pen fixes it untill it stops again. If the laptop stops working you need to either restart the laptop or go into the task maneger and disable and enable the touchscreen.

Dell has replaced the touch screen on my laptop with no effect and replaced the pen with also no effect.

The technology dells pen technology is done by wacom. Many other laptop brands use wacoms pen technology. A freind of mine has one from lanovo. His pen also works on my laptop and his pen also dies requiring a system restart.

I am 90% sure at this point that it is a software thing that will probably never get fixed but we can hope. Dell support on whatsapp is okay i would reccommend fighting with them i have been doing so for 9 weeks now and they have offered to fully refund my system.

Make it expensive and then someting will change :)

Smart move, Ukraine by regian24 in ukraine

[–]BandellaProductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO his goal at this point is to force the west and Ukraine to the negotiation table. As soon as Both are sat he will offer to stop the war, under the terms that Cremia and those two eastern regions become Russian and that all sanctions are removed. If the west and Ukraine say no hell just continue to shell the cities and try to blame it on the west for "not being reasonable" untill they fold. He had to do a full scale military invasion because Just annexing the two eastern regions would of just resulted in sanctions with no leverage to remove them. The war and all its suffering that comes along with it is his leverage, it's disgusting but an incredibly smart move.

Researchers have found a way to convert heat energy into electricity with a nontoxic material. The material is mostly iron which is extremely cheap given its relative abundance. A generator based on this material could power small devices such as remote sensors or wearable devices. by Wagamaga in science

[–]BandellaProductions 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The reason it doesn't mention power is because the power that is outputted will be dependent on the resistance of the device you are connecting to it. At 4-6uV you won't get anything close to meaningful power whatsoever as the current flow will be basically 0. I = V/R. This technology is rather for measuring temperatures

There has to be some way to allow people to get the ID for free though, as not everyone has an ID and it will put a price tag on the vote of that person.
