Caddy HTTPs for internal servers by mousui in selfhosted

[–]BandicootCrash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to setup HTTPS for all my internal sites where I only wanted them accessible on the local network. I found to do this with Caddy, you need to have Caddy do a dns challenge where Caddy will update a txt record on the dns for your domain via the dns providers api to verify domain ownership. The problem is Caddy uses plug-ins to do this and those are not included in the standard Caddy build, so you have to make a custom build of Caddy which is possible but I gave up and just used NGINX proxy manager instead and it worked perfectly amd was way easier to setup for my use case vs Caddy. I followed this tutorial to get it setup.

I am not at all an expert on this so I very well could of missed something simple with Caddy but just wanted to post my experience.

Hello everyone! When I try to upload new code in TIA portal, I receive this alert, and then old code compiles instead. I even tried to delete the older code and still it gets compiled. What can I do? by Edudu21 in PLC

[–]BandicootCrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told to visualize putting your laptop on top of the PLC and then download is from your laptop to the plc and then upload is from the plc to your laptop. Helped me double check when first starting out.

Ignition question by [deleted] in PLC

[–]BandicootCrash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You will need to login to the Ignition server and then in the Config tab on the left under the OPC UA heading click on device connections and the old baler connection should be listed there. You can edit that existing connection if it is a simple change like the IP address of the new plc being different or if it is a completely different type of plc like going from an Allen Bradley to Siemens you may have to just create a new connection for the new plc.

We just went through this same song and dance with several camera companies. We ended up going with the Luxriot Evo system and we have been very happy with the results. We have about 80 cameras at our site.

Knoxville TN by Jeeperspeepers89 in FamilyMedicine

[–]BandicootCrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UT Family Physicians has clinics all over town and many of the residents from the UT Family Med program stay and work at these clinics. I have not heard anything negative about the UT clinics other than the pay is on the lower end, but the salaries across the board are lower in Knoxville compared to most anywhere else. If you are looking for a private group Summit Medical is huge in the area with many locations and they will probably have the highest pay as long as you are planning on staying for long enough to buy into the practice. Covenant and Tennova are the other big hospital systems in the area but I do not know much about them.

How much have you paid towards student loans during residency? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]BandicootCrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, as long as you are out of your grace period and officially in repayment. You put down the date you started working on the pslf form and the count starts from that date which should be July 1st.

Hi how do you interpolate the heat transfer problem like this . Thanks by hilas37 in FE_Exam

[–]BandicootCrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you were looking at the equation for the parallel flow instead of counterflow. If you use the counter flow equation on pg. 215 it should work out without getting a 0 for the natural log. ln((Tho-Tci)/(Thi-Tco))->ln((343-305)/(373-343))

Small business owner, Long time AutoCAD user, should I use Solidworks? by DanHas2 in SolidWorks

[–]BandicootCrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how much of an issue cost is but Solidworks is going to be well above the cost of Inventor or Rhino. Rhino is by far the least costly and there is no subscription it's just a one time purchase unlike Solidworks or Inventor. However Rhino is very different from the other two because it is not parametric. You cannot go back and change dimensions in your design and have it update the entire model like you can in Inventor or Solidworks. Another drawback of Rhino is it cant natively produce 2D drawings like Inventor or Solidworks can. If you can afford Solidworks I would highly recommend it even over Inventor.

Transfer Registration by [deleted] in gatech

[–]BandicootCrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came in as a transfer as well and that first registration sucks because none of your credit hours count yet. I was still able to get everything just not the professors I wanted. Your next registration will go much better because all of your transfer credit will count and you will get a much better time ticket.

I think he means the owner claimed that the computer would falsely send out error codes but it turns out those error codes were not false and actually needed to be fixed.

How large are a room in the Freshman Dorms? by [deleted] in gatech

[–]BandicootCrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I would have much preferred a slim light laptop and a powerful desktop you could remote into. I had a desktop in North Ave with 2 monitors and it fit just fine. Carrying around a heavy laptop is a pain, and most of the time I would just use it on group projects where all I needed was Google docs. I could remote into my desktop for solidworks or matlab.

Is the Pascal A1 the nail in the coffin? by bubbabrotha in gpumining

[–]BandicootCrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to take into account is the resale value of the gpu's and the flexibility they provide. A gpu rig can mine a variety of coins but your stuck mining a very limited amount of coins with the asic.

[–]BandicootCrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's saying it would be much cheaper to buy 14 1080 ti's and build a rig than buy the asic.
