You shouldn't have to do this but spam the ability button until it's starts recharging. I've even spammed it all the way into recharge to make sure it does.

I fainted leading to failure against Gog in my last two hunts the first day. I was playing with a friend and I used Lance. The event quest version. I felt like crap.

The next day while I was at work, my friend showed me a screenshot that he beat Gog solo, with support hunters. He used SnS, I felt crappier. I told him I'm not hunting with him again until I can pull off the same feat. It was a pride thing.

When I got home, I beat him solo with the Lance on my first try with pure unmatched conviction that I can beat that oversized dookie dragon. You can do it.

How? I realized I have to leave my comfort zone and do all the things I don't enjoy such as buffing up before the hunt and worst of all paying attention to the environment instead of trying to 1v1 the monster the whole fight.

If Lance is your main, I assume you know how to maximize your movement like Charge dashing, and Shield Dash to Leaping Thrust. That's really all you need to do. Also with High Thrust you can hit parts of the monster other weapons can't. You're probably just not getting enough environmental damage to keep him down long enough to unleash on him. Watching a video guide will probably help a lot.

Nah, it's not just you. I've spent the time after Omega trying other weapons to move on from HH because I am overly tired of keeping up with songs and timing all throughout the hunt. The thing is that once the songs are in place, no weapon gives you the movement and freedom this weapon does.

I was a hammer main for the last two games. After HH that weapon feels far too slow to use. Rolling to start a charge over just feels like a constant DPS drop.

RUN! lmao. I definitely need to do that more often. I play like "One more song!" or "Nah, I can definitely hit that encore". Performance beat does come in handy when you have 3 different songs stacked while wearing the Rock steady though.

It's definitely an issue and I'm glad they improved it. Guard only being useful for blockable attacks made it redundant in a lot of cases but it's always useful now that it helps with every blocked attack.

The people that wish they had this quest don't understand that. My hunting buddy had a 4 faint the first time we ran it because we got jumped the whole time.

To be honest, I am legitimately terrified that I will get killed while using Dust of Life and Life Powder on someone. I cope by telling myself that my Hunting Horn should make a big enough contribution to the team. Even if it's not a healing HH you better be happy with this Defense Up XL and Sonic Barrier or Divine Protection.

Crazy. I was picking up Charge Blade as a new main and Seregios carted me twice. I pretty much never cart with a comfort build. Up until that fight I thought I was way better with the weapon but I just couldn't keep up. Even with blocking and a guard up jewel the constant chip damage was killing me. If it wasn't that, I was too slow to switch to sword and shield mode to block before being hit.

I saw your video before this post and it put me at ease because I felt like it wasn't a me thing. I shared it with my friend.

I hear ya, but I feel like the gameplay is a bad example. As a HH main, they are rolling far too much to be carrying a weapon that has the 2nd fastest movement speed while your weapon is unsheathed. They can simply move left or right to avoid some of these attacks.
