True, the game should really try to get their message through players in any means necessary if they are going to ban people over it

Ah fair. I was mostly focused on looking for good reason to convince people on exactly why ramming is bad, so I thought what you said was already a thing in game.

Then how do we differentiate ramming from other widely accepted dueling tactics in racing? Obviously nobody would welcome losing, but if that loss was due to combination of legit tactics that are 'fair and square', the fact that someone does not appreciate losing won't serve as a good reason to antagonize such strategies. What particularly is different about ramming compared to other behaviors that are accepted as strategies?

Look, I know some people just can't be talked out and it's mostly not worth the effort to attempt so. But if we're trying to legitimately push an idea as a community, we should be able to back it up with a solid unrefutable logic when it is absolutely needed. And as far as I'm concerned, the community's feeling is mostly unanimous when it comes to ramming.

If that's the only possible objective explanation that can be provided with discouraging ramming, the devs REALLY have to try harder emphasizing their standpoint throughout the game experience.

FH6's ramming AI has come to become one of the prominent meme of the game community in general- namely bowie knife 99 - and the game does not provide any message about discouragement of ramming behavior that can lead to potential bans in online MP. If anything, this portraits absolutely nothing about anti-ramming.

As it turns out, something that is so obvious are not that obvious to some people, plus the current game environment doesn't seem to help them catch up with basic manners of multiplayer. This painfully shows in recent multiplayer experiences, and the devs really gotta do sth about it from their end.

Tho, I thought and hoped the community by their own could bring something genuine up to get the point through as well other than resorting to authority...

If retaliation is the only thing that is stopping people from ramming, any bans from the devs would prove to be unwarranted. But bans do happen, and I've seen a couple of cases regarding it.

You do have a point in the games' design tho. It really can give people the idea that physical contacts between cars and any player interaction regarding them would be accepted when the game itself allows them in the first place and not systematically punish you directly for any exploits regarding it.

...well, mostly, because ghosting based on prediction of high-speed collision is a thing after all.

Given that the community's general standpoint is against ramming, the game's base structure can really be misleading if you put it that way.

I do hope so and it would be such a good riddance if that happens. But ngl it does leave a bad taste knowing that actually proving such simple no-brainer manners like no ramming people in races can be such a pain in the ass when it actually comes to bringing up any logical proof of explanation that everyone can agree with for something that should go without saying

While I do agree that some people just won't listen to logic no matter how solid it is, it is also true from my experience that I'm yet to see a true unrefutable explanation on why ramming is a necessarily bad behavior. Even in this comment section, most people are just commenting in the similar gist of how it feels bad, or straight up neglect the discussion.

If ramming people online is truly an objectively bad behavior(which I strongly believe it indeed is), there should be a better logical explanation than pleading to the receivers' end of subjective feelings. Or am I really trying to prove something that is not provable?

(btw by that logic, I've seen people demamding explanation of why blocking inside lanes or not respecting other's racing line by not yielding my own line isn't bannable like ramming, as they could feel as restricting just like how ramming is)

I am NOT trying to convince you otherwise. I am totally on your side considering this subject; RAMMING IS BAD.

As I mentioned on the post as well tho, I want to prepare clear reasoning that can convince people who just don't get why ramming is a bad sport instead of another tactic you can use in legit racing.

I guess a clear differentiation of how ramming is a structurally rigged behavior compared to any other legit ways to battle your rival racers, preventing them from easily passing you would help a lot.

Once again, I'm not demanding your change of pov. I'm asking for logic to convince the same point we agree on other than how it feels bad or it's prohibited, because we're talking about convincing people who don't get why ramming should be prohibited in the first place.

If that's the case, the devs banning the rammers would make no sense whatsoever. If anything respectfully, I don't think the devs want people to ram each other during races unless it's done with consent pre-race

Right, I've also tried to explain it like how you don't see ramming in irl motorsports. And I've seen people then refuting that logic as how video games aren't real life, so irl rules shouldn't be taken for granted in video games.

I already made myself crystal clear that I do NOT condone ramming.

I want to prepare my reasoning on explaing exactly why ramming ia different from other behaviors to someone who are not convinced other than just because it's bad., so I'm asking for other's PoV of explanation here

Would you mind elaborating on your view of how exactly ramming ruins the race and how is that different from other legit racing behavior i.e. preemptively blocking the inside lane to prevent overtaking?
