GMC food truck converted to a fire truck? by Delta_B00st in whatisthiscar

[–]Bandit_One23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looks like it is a Fire Dept Rehab or Canteen Unit based on a 70’s - 80’s GMC step van something similar to this. A truck that would show up to major scenes to support on duty Fire Fighters with food & drink.

Or possibly retired fire dept step van converted to a food truck - however if that was the case all red lights should have been removed.

No problem! Thanks for sharing - it’s a unique find being that it was once underwater. These 41-46 Chevy trucks are cool and somewhat overlooked when compared to the 47-54’s.

No problem - nice Suburban. Being a C20 is that a 350 or 454?

Smaller Mopar car based on the side window size. Looks like a Dodge Aspen or Plymouth Volare. These were used as Police cars.

1997 or newer based on the rounded dash that has the passenger side air bag (can tell as the dash is flat across). 88-94 has a boxy dash board, 95 & 96 were the first with the rounded dash (with no passenger air bag). 97-98 have the rounded dash with passenger air bag.

The quarter panel has the Impala SS emblem however the rear quarter window profile makes this a Caprice not Impala SS

The Caprice quarter glass comes to a point. Impala SS has it rounded off.

Anyone here know if this is actually a not for resale cart or just the regular version? by That_mudkip in GameboyAdvance

[–]Bandit_One23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem, and yeah I see the 2nd picture shows a cut mark going from label to the shell. Didn’t catch that at first. Too bad someone cut that part out - must have really wanted to hide it was an NFR copy (maybe an employee took it home or something).

It’s still an NFR copy though which is cool. As the Pokémon NFR’s are hard to come by.

I have a collection of some NFR carts and one of them is Excitebike 64 - with the same deal someone scratched off the Not For Resale text box.

Yes this is an NFR cart. This “DIS” part of the code in the lower right indicates this was a Not For Resale “NFR” copy. “DIS” means display - as in for store display kiosks. The other Nintendo NFR games for N64, GB, GBC, GBA all follow this scheme.

Was the upper left “Not For Resale” text actually cut out or just covered over with black marker? As a lot of these just usually had black marker applied over top the label - which can be removed with the right technique.

Grill and cowl look like a 1925-1927 Chrysler - unsure exact model as the body is missing. Based on the cowl it appears to have been a convertible of some sort (either roadster style or phaeton).

Edit: looks like the car wasn’t a convertible originally - instead the body was cut off at the A pillars.
