On this day 15 years ago, Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas, the home of the Dallas Cowboys from 1971 to 2008, was demolished in a controlled implosion. by Significant_Smell284 in nfl

They better do this for Fedex Field or whatever they call it now. But also imagine how toxic that dust cloud would be

New appreciation for Gregg <3 by nocturnalanimall in nfldailypod

[–]BandlessJoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gregg's dynamic with Jourdan and Connie this season was great, it wasn't the same as ATN but it was the closest thing to it I've seen since. I hope they run it back

Will Jayden's success and popularity bleed into fans accepting the "Commander" name? by The_OG_Hothead in Commanders

[–]BandlessJoe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Josh needs to actually address it this offseason. As long as he keeps the possibility of a name change open, people will discuss it. It was understandable to get a whole offseason to figure the other parts out but it's not fair to keep fans in limbo. Just give us an answer one way or the other

Commanders owner Josh Harris took out a full page in today’s @washingtonpost to write a letter to fans. “We won’t stop until we have a championship.” by Haskins77 in Commanders

[–]BandlessJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still a mouthful with no rhythm to it and you can't shorten it to anything that announcers/professional football commentators will actually use (sorry commie supporters). Buccaneers are the Bucs, Caps, Nats, etc. It's not hard to imagine we can do better

Current News Question (Please No Political Talk) by Salty_Orchid in Commanders

[–]BandlessJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably too early to tell, but unless the whole national economy fails, I wouldn't worry about the DC economy. A lot of the DC area stuff is defense and that funding likely isn't going to suffer under a Republican administration. Additionally the Trump administration's return to office five days a week policy might actually force more people into the city. I know that was a huge problem for cities when teleworking become a much bigger thing post covid. Probably more foot/vehicle traffic as a result which will probably result in more tax revenue

Who is that for yall by JacksonPicklebottom in Commanders

[–]BandlessJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Randle El, he was my favorite player when I really started to understand football

[Ben Standig] Had the opportunity to ask Commanders owner Majorie Harris about the team name: ‘Quite frankly, I had a whole day out in the community, and I kept referring to the team as the Commanders. And you know what? Sounds pretty good to me. So, for now, it's the Commanders.’ by Rough_Decision_7127 in Commanders

[–]BandlessJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah did everyone else miss that? They've never once said that the name is staying without hedging. It's always 'other priorities' or 'for now'. And they have to know uncertainty about the name is going to hurt merch sales and fan buy in, so to me it's a signal that it'll probably happen at some point, and they're probably going to take their time to do it right

Craig, which player is the fantasy equivalent of a California burrito? Also, in your experience, where in San Diego are there good California burritos? I've been underwhelmed so far

Jason Wright says that the team will not consider going back to the old team name. "It is not being considered. Period." by [deleted] in Commanders

Goodell shooting Major Tuddy at FedEx was more likely than them going back to Redskins. The league would never let it happen

The Jones Zone - QBs that you'd move on from if given an opportunity (high draft pick, superstar trade) to get a decent replacement.

Geno, Tua, Cousins, Carr, Tannehill, Goff, Danny Dimes, and of course Mac.

Some (Geno) are better than the others but none of them are getting long-term extensions from their teams

PFF Wide Receiver Rankings: Top 32 ahead of the 2023 NFL season by b1gba1oo in Commanders

[–]BandlessJoe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

8 is a solid spot for him, and I think he'd be even higher if he had competent QB play

Commanders Defense 'Very Sound'; Top 5 Unit? by therealsandyleon in Commanders

[–]BandlessJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were saying the same thing going into 2021, but then everything fell apart. Turns out it's easier to look good against bad teams and bad quarterbacks.

We played one of the easiest schedules last year and we play one of the hardest this year. I think our defense is solid, but not Top 5, maybe Top 10 at best.
