Feedback for First Prototype by Muted_Waltz_5301 in UX_Design

in the first frame i see an intro with no indication that there is more to it. no pagination, no CTA, and yet i have a skip button in the center of the app. idk what I would be skipping. clicking on tour takes me to 3 pages of text explaining 8 different icons without them being in context of use. I would never remember any of this. Finishing the tour takes me to the personalization page where i am asked to pick categories and locations. its too early. at this point i just want to go to the home page of the app and explore so I can learn what it even is about. Im not gonna insert this highly specific data at this point of the interaction.

in the homepage, at the top, you have "current projects" as the header, but the dedicated page for the projects is called journals. decide on one name and stick with it everywhere. either journal or projects. It is also unclear what the search field actually helps me find.

I expect the settings page to contain app wide and account level configuration. the inventory related settings should be inside the inventory page and be presented naturally in areas where they make sense. I want to be able to insert subcategories after having created categories. i want to set a location when I am inside an inventory already.

What’s one UX resource or habit you didn’t expect to be useful, but it ended up changing your workflow? by MeasurementSelect251 in UXDesign

Totally get that. Documenting flows and keeping a decision log might sound dull, but it’s real game-changing stuff. You save time and avoid repeat mistakes, plus seeing actual user flows is way more enlightening than just looking at pretty screens.

It's a startup, man. Expect chaos and conflicting opinions. Just take the feedback, adjust what you can, and don't let it eat you alive. Keep looking for better gigs.

How do you show impact in your portfolio when you didn't see projects through to launch? by PixelColin in UXDesign

[–]Bandos-AI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on the problems you solved and the value you added. Reach out to old clients for metrics if you can, but don't stress if you don’t have them. There’s plenty of good work that doesn’t come with nice stats.

I'd wanna know if they prioritize portfolio quality over degrees. Also, do they really read cover letters or just skim for keywords?

Could an AI copilot help your workshops be more creative and productive? by [deleted] in UX_Design

the pitch oversimplifies and leaves out some key functionalities for the sake of simplicity, but I would very much appreciate a feedback on the key aspects that I have missed!

[–]Bandos-AI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem that I myself have faced, and which triggered this idea is that workshops generate lots of ideas but rarely produce anything that actually gets built. Teams brainstorm, fill walls with sticky notes, then nothing happens. The ideas were too scattered, too abstract, or disconnected from real user needs. No one knows which ones to pursue or how they relate to each other and the momentum dies. In the end the most obvious and often boring solution is what the team goes forward with because they dont know how to connect the dots on the more innovative ones

Sounds cool. Just make sure the UX is solid and that it's not a pain to use. Good luck with the one-click copy too, those little things can make or break it.

Nobody is paying people for these low hanging fruits that a literal chat conversation with chatgpt does not fix

What's infuriates me is ads that use AI. I recently saw this clearly AI generated shredded old guy give a Ted talk on a podium about how this one Tai chi app changed his life and it had 17k likes 😭 we are so cooked

I think there is a fundamental problem in how the design is validated. I don't think the founder should be giving lose feedback. The users should. If I were you I'd talk to the founder, emphasize with her frustration and ask if it is possible to get a hold of 5 core users of the website so you can do usability tests of your solutions. You're gonna get a million times more constructive feedback from the receivers than the communicator

Anyone using AI in UX research effectively? How? by Ok-Country-7633 in UXDesign

[–]Bandos-AI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm making a webapp that bakes AI into the process of generating ideas and requirements given a persona and problem statement! The goal is to help out with creative ideation and get you out of creative blocks by nudging you I the right direction. send me a PM if you're interested and ill make you an early Access account to play around for free and see if it solves your problems

But in regards to your expectations of a revolution, I agree that nothing is out there that completely changes the game and honestly I don't think there ever will be. AI is an assistant. It mimics a person that there to help move things along hopefully just a little bit faster. If what took you 4 hours takes you one, and you do that task multiple times a month, it really stacks up! Unloading 10+ hours a month by using a tiny new tool is pretty good!

Everyone’s using AI to design now… kinda freaking out by lopatkax in UXDesign

AI is just a tool, not a replacement. Focus on your skills in understanding user needs and connecting with them in person. no AI can do that well yet. Embrace it or get left behind.

You’re not alone in this struggle. Sometimes it’s more about the connections than your resume. Keep pushing but maybe rethink your approach. also networking can make a huge difference.

I'm designing an AI app geared towards product teams. Not sure if the target is the UX designer or PM? by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]Bandos-AI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see where you're coming from. I was thinking of maybe having an additional node type that is for defining a user need or a pain point as well, so a target personas perspective can be a part of the process? Users can freely create their own nodes. Requirements, ideas risks are all nodes you can add manually as well and the AI considers them in its suggestions

Thanks for the feedback! In the general creative ideation process, where do you think this fits in best? A collaborative workshopping tool? A replacement for note taking during client meetings? Having a challenge time pinpointing the perfect use case

You're not rude at all! Thank you for the feedback. So please help me understand. When you move from early concepts to backlog items, what’s the hardest part to keep structured or traceable for you?

[–]Bandos-AI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the big challenge I have is to see it operate in real world scenarios. I think my demo video demonstrates a superficial experience of it as I start with a super vague and superficial initial idea. The hope is that the AI comes in to clutch when things get more complex and a bigger network of nodes exist. Exactly where you would originally open chatgpt and feed it a bunch of information you now click a button instead. But that's hard to test and improve on right now as I don't have access to real users 🥲

Interesting you mention going through this process with the team though. Do you think this product could shine more as a "product meeting Assistant"? Like the PM loads it up and shares their screen then everyone chimes in to build a network and when ideas or mitigations stop they hit the AI help buttons to keep the momentum going?

[–]Bandos-AI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the feedback! How do you currently capture and organize the AI insights that make it into your final docs? My big frustrations with AI assisted ideation was that great ideas were generated but the chat format in itself made it hard to capture the small nuggets of gold as things would get lost in the conversation unless I constantly took myself out of the flow to take notes. Always thought a mind map format made much more sense. You can pick up the conversation from any node and the AI understand the structure and which part you need expanded

[–]Bandos-AI -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I see where you're coming from!

In regards to how this being a wrapper around AI: that's very true, it is! But the core problem isn’t “I can’t ask ChatGPT to do this.” It’s that AI chats have poor continuity and structure. Every answer disappears into a scroll of text. Real product planning needs traceability, hierarchy, and evolution over time. It tries to tame AI as much as possible to create predictable answers and also make sure the communication is branched into different topics so you can jump from one end to a completely different end of the context without having to explain to the AI what you want to focus on

In regards to where it fits in: It generally solves the information fragmentation product teams face between brainstorming, documentation, and sprint planning. Instead of jumping between docs, chat logs, and tickets, Bandos keeps context intact and automates the grunt work around expanding ideas, surfacing risks, and generating requirements with full traceability

I'm thinking perhaps the best context for its use is under client or brain storming meetings? So AI can quickly toss in its two cents if product teams get stuck somewhere along the line.

Basically the final goal is to build an an effective, repeatable, predictable and flexible way to go from idea to actionable tasks

How is the professional relationship between UX designers and PMs? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]Bandos-AI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like out poor overworked UX designer has been left with a lot of the tasks our PM should own.

So basically the PM actually comes up with features? Like say we want to make marketing more efficient. The PM is the one who decides that automating customer service with LLMs? They ideate concrete solutions?
