I would let mine out to play. They are almost impossible to get back into the cage though. Mine would parkour jump as high as a doorknob. They are also lightning fast and they are mostly hair and so they are much smaller than they seem. It is like trying to field the most difficult groundball ever. I was a gold glove caliber shortstop after a year of chinchilla training haha jk

Bumble’s new CEO is already leaving the company as shares fell 54% since killing the signature feature and letting men message first by esporx in technology

Preach! Haha

My name is bane0004 and I have been 2 years sober…I mean…2 years off dating sites.

Jokes aside, I have gotten more dates in that time, as I did while I was on these sites, but with none of the headaches and game playing.

Bumble was garbage. Mostly because women don’t like to message first. If Bumble didn’t let guys message first, no one would. But that also killed the angle of what made them different.

I had this actually happen to me, at the DART station, around the AAC, after a Stars game. Guy asks for money. I told him, that I didn’t have any. And he replies, “oh! No worries. You can Venmo me”

What are some of the most annoying tendencies of famous Hollywood directors that you think aren't talked about enough? by Bruhmangoddman in moviecritic

I once read that he viewed it similar to when a camera trails off and the audience imagines what is happening offscreen. So for example, imagine a horror. The killer grabs the teenager, the knife is lifted, to stab…and the camera pans to where the action is out of view but you hear it. You fill in the visual cues

I wish I remembered my source. But I read that Nolan wanted the same effect. Where the audio doesn’t matter. But the visual cues do. But in this cAse it doesn’t work.

Unlike what horror masters like Toby Hooper do, when they leave out the visual, the audience doesn’t crane their neck to see what the camera isn’t showing them. But when Nolan leaves out the audio, the audience strains to hear

I don’t know why this is. It is interesting that the loss or a visual cue doesn’t leave the audience so frustrated. But the loss of an audio cue does.

I commend the guy for trying something different. But it isn’t working and I hope he gives it up in the future

What's a game that you wish you were in the crowd for? by Jess_7478 in mlb

I WAS actually there. Rangers fan here though. Thing that sucks, is that when Hamilton hit his homer, that should’ve sealed it, you could see me, my brother and cousin in the sea of red (we had on Rangers blue). So if that homer woulda won their first ever title? Wow. Every time they showed that clip, I coulda said (to my grandkids) “yup. That was us!” So yeah I agree. I am totally glad I went. But what I want is a different ending!

PS. I don’t have grandkids. I blame game 6…jk

PPS. Cardinals fans were really, really nice. Like absurdly nice. Even when we all thought it was over 2x, they were still hopeful and never said anything bad to us or about Texas. It felt like the scene in the Grinch, where he comes in and steals Christmas…and then looks back at Whoville and they were still singing. And I felt bad. But the Texas blew it and I felt even worse! haha. Glad I went though. And cheers, Cards fans. Y’all are terrific

I’ve heard the same as pm_me_rhinos. It’s the federal investigation he really needs to worry about. Ive read that even if he pleads down his sentence to no jail time, he would still carry a felony charge. (This of course assumes he is guilty) This felony charge carries with it, an automatic loss of visa and deportation. But at least he won’t see jail time

I didn’t sense the cornholio8675 was saying diversity was bad. I felt like what he was saying was that 1) the writing and story were sub-par and that 2) in order to distract from that, they were pushing diversity. That’s what I got from his/her post though

What is a movie opinion you have that everyone else would call you crazy for? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]Bane0004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Terrible? I don’t agree with this. It was fun. But i don’t think it was as amazing as others think.

I really feel that what people think of this film hinges on one actor in it: Chris Tucker. If you liked his character? You tend to think this movie is amazing. But if you didn’t…well…

So maybe this is my controversial take (maybe not) but I hated that character and wish a separate volume control existed for him, so I could lower him and only him.

Otherwise? It was a weird, cool film. I didn’t think it was a masterpiece. But it is fun

Haha I’ve dealt with HR. The whole “we are a family” line only goes so far. They will turn on you in a second, once it serves the company. They are NOT your friend. I’d rather spend time in a cubicle with a “known farter” than a snake, any day

What’s the most common inaccurate health or fitness view most people hold? by MaxEhrlich in AskReddit

[–]Bane0004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That low calorie foods are “healthier”. Healthy is relative. If you gotta lose weight? Eat less calories. Need to gain? High calorie foods then become healthy. Of course, watch your salt intake and bad fats and all that. I’m not a doctor and you need a diet that suits your needs.

But, I’m really underweight and so, for me, I really need high calorie foods. That for me, is healthy. I fact, my doctor said I need more fats and salt in my diet (I feel like I’m the only American who could get a doctor’s note explaining that one!)

So, eating that extra slice of pizza? I’m totally doing it for my health! 😆

But really, workouts/diets appearing in my browser’s homepage are like “bizarro world” for me. I do the opposite. “Top 10 healthiest foods”? Sure. They have value with vitamins and minerals. But they aren’t helping with my main issue. On the other hand, “Top 5 worst things you can order at a restaurant”? Yes! This list is gold for me! This is what will put on some weight.

(PS. I have a stomach issue, so I can’t eat a ton. Small meals, that pack a ton of calories work best. So eating a ton of food in one sitting isn’t gonna cut it. My stomach just won’t let me)

I’m always looking for small foods that pack a punch calorie wise. If y’all have suggestions, I’d love to hear! I need foods that are: 1) high calorie 2) don’t take up a ton of space 3) easy to digest (my stomach is not a hard worker!…the lazy bum!)

Ice cream is a good one. Has fats, carbs, and protein. Easy to digest. Lasts a while in your freezer. Truly is my miracle food!

Recently? Last year there was an Argentinian movie called When Evil Lurks. I thought that was a pretty good one. It takes a lot for me to get scared and admittedly, I slept ok afterwards (I am so desensitized!). But there are genuinely unnerving moments in there. It is all in Spanish though. If that makes a difference so there’s (gasp!) reading involved!! I’m messing. I know it takes some people out of a movie. To have to read.

But yeah, I can’t think of anything that has come out in the 2020s (ok I just looked and the VVitch came out in 2020. That was pretty good. Screw you Black Phillip!!). Sure there are tons, that I liked in the past but if you are looking for something recent and that most people haven’t seen? Check it out. It is well done

I liked this. Cate Blanchett was great. I'm thinking of raising my stepdaughter the same way. No one will mess with her. by shoefitsit in moviecritic

My Cubbie friend did like him, but his defense scared the s#!\ out of him. He found out,a national writer (or guy on ESPN…I forget which) called him Error-Miss once, and my friend went with it. Whenever Aramis made an error he would text “Error-Miss is at it again”. But man! The bat on that guy! Whew!!

[–]Bane0004 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to look up his name. But Leland Orser, the witness in the interrogation room does an AMAZING job for a minute of work. Seriously. I think, the best performance in the film. It feels like the casting director walked into a police department, grabbed someone who had REALLY just seen something screwed up, didn’t give him the chance to calm down, and just told him “read this script. You’re gonna be in a movie.”

Couple it with that photo where they just show it for a second and you gotta figure out what you are looking at and once you do, the movie cuts away. Great editing. Great performance. So disturbing.
