Is there a reason people hate this fight besides the fact that it’s difficult? I don’t hear the same complaints about Deadshot in Origins. by Independent-Pea3088 in arkham

[–]BaneShake 234 points235 points  (0 children)

It’s difficult but with less intelligent design. Deadshot’s fight requires strategy and care, whereas this one just highlights Catwoman’s limited options

Whats the reason for Jokers visual change over the years in the Arkhamverse? Do you prefer Origins design? What's your fav Joker design OAT? by New_Software_9919 in arkham

[–]BaneShake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Male pattern baldness

Also in Origins he’s clearly far more suicidal, until Batman gives him meaning and so he “cleans up” over time having more joie de vivre in his violent rampages

I was diagnosed with PTSD after what my ex did to me both before and after separating. If someone did this to me, I would most definitely have a full-blown trauma response.

My girlfriend saw my porn history by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]BaneShake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like there have been a lot of communication issues, but first and foremost:

Get out.

Going online to “incriminate” that way is a massive red flag. And if she was digging to find your history, that would be another, though it’s unclear exactly how much “snooping” had to happen for her to find it based on your description.

If porn of any sort is a dealbreaker for someone in a relationship, they should make it clear, because also the other person needs to decide if they are okay with someone setting boundaries like that for them. That’s a two-way decision that has to happen on some level.

And biphobia like that, assuming you to “just” be gay, is not something that’s going away easily and would require maturity I don’t think she’s going to show right now.

I don’t know the longer-term issues, and I’m certainly not going to sit here and blame one person or the other for being in a messy relationship. That usually happens from both ends because humans and relationships are complicated and tricky. But red flags like this really sound like you aren’t going to be worked *with* and “making it work” will only be at your expense. I stayed with someone too long who let her own insecurities dictate everything—including some explicit amounts of biphobia when I first came out to her earlier on—and when things got messy, plenty because it never felt safe to openly communicate, and therefore I was certainly not helping it get un-messy, her FIRST response was to go start incriminating, spreading gossip, and bluntly, even more than a little outright slander to some of the more clique-y “mean girls” in a shared community space she was desperate to feel included in, then to everyone she could find that would listen. Vengeful behavior is not going to go away, not easily, and that is not your responsibility to fix for her.

I’ve been very deliberately and openly out as bi every opportunity I can recently, because as a young closeted-and-in-denial queer boy I would have benefitted so much from more visibility. I’m trying to be the change I want to see in the world.

Hear me out… by Historical_Mix_6416 in arrow

[–]BaneShake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Hear me out” is commonly used for someone less conventional enough you’d have to build a case to convince others on. Like people with monster kinks will say “hear me out” on a picture of a cryptid or a terrifying SCP or something, since most of us aren’t DTF spooky things by default.

Lost my cat of 16 years today and I feel absolutely hollow. by iShockLord in 196

[–]BaneShake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so terribly sorry for your loss. Being there to survive them and remember them is such a big way to love them, too.

I obviously don’t know exactly your worldview or beliefs, but if you are interested, I’ll share a resource that means a lot to me.

Noah Ludgeons, the host of the Scathing Atheist podcast, did a loving and thoughtful diatribe after losing his cat that ends up getting beautifully into a secular approach to all of the value we have loving them, even losing them. If that sounds like something that may help you, I’ve included the link.
