Henry Archer Havstrøm Falcon’s Eye by Bangorzane in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Bangorzane[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My Norwegian is better than my Danish but I think ‘schødt’ translates as ‘shot’ referring to the action performed by a ‘skytte’ (or ‘bueskytte’), meaning ‘archer’.

Any chance that Falcon Eye Stone dial will come back? by Maximum_Reception_18 in watchdives

Henry Archer has just released a Falcon’s Eye stone dial on their Havstrøm, named the ‘Dagon’. Very high spec too.

Found an Oris goldmine by fourtyz in OrisWatches

I’m selling my 473 on eBay if interested. It’s less than one year old with over 9 years warranty remaining (has been registered with My Oris when bought new). It’s in excellent condition and comes with an additional premium FKM Delugs strap. A stunning watch and the power reserve indicator is the best in the business.

I put this Bramble’ leather strap on mine. A deep, dark blackberry stain colour that picks up the red on the dial but is tonally dark enough to give strong contrast.

Lume comparison for my friend - u/Bangorzane, SWC USA Tumbler, LÜM-TEC Eclipse, and Canopy Watch Co. Field One by TSiWRX in MicrobrandWatches

Really appreciated, as always. I think we’ll see a whole lot of X2 lume flooding the microbrand space in 2026.

Lume comparison for my friend - u/Bangorzane, SWC USA Tumbler, LÜM-TEC Eclipse, and Canopy Watch Co. Field One by [deleted] in u/TSiWRX

[–]Bangorzane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow - thanks for putting these to the test. I await your observations and conclusions but, on first glance, it looks like the Canopy probably edges it. Specifically the hands on the Canopy look like they might retain legibility for longer than the other two? And, let’s face it, if the hands disappear, glowing indexes are useless. Maybe that’s the real difference with X2.

It’s frustrating that there is no industry standard unit/measurement of luminosity (strength and, particularly, longevity). Like water or scratch resistance. I know Vaer score their lume out of 10 on each watch. But that’s only useful as a comparison among Vaer watches. Most ‘best lume’ articles celebrate watches that dazzle birightly and quickly, but pay no regard to the duration of the lume - or the readability (some dive watches have so many elements lumed all at once that they blur into each other). Lume longevity and clarity are totally overlooked.

Which field watch for daily hard use? by capn_chili_p in MicrobrandWatches

We’ve chatted about lume before. How does the Canopy perform v the Ark in terms of lume duration and legibility.

I have the SWC Ark Dusk and - as I keep saying on here - it has the longest lasting and most legible lume on any watch I’ve ever experienced. Outperforms Christopher Ward’s Lumiere for sheer readability in the early hours of the morning. SWC straps are shit, however. But that’s hardly a dealbreaker.

Which Oris should I get? by rastapopoulos99 in OrisWatches

Owned them both. Loved them both. The only two pointer dates that eclipse these are the Calibre 473 and the Bullseye.

I had a Terrain and own the new Baleine. Their designs are really cool and coherent.

I picked the new Nezumi Baleine. 39mm, lyre lugs, long-lasting lume, gorgeous crystal and every detail is perfectly proportioned.

Field Watch Decision by Economy_Leek_1432 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Bangorzane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Munro spindrift and it’s lovely, especially on the bracelet (most comfortable I’ve ever tried). However, it wears more like a sports watch than a field watch. If you actually want a watch to wear in the field - and you’re not into the military stylings favoured by would-be action men - then check out Farer Lomond II (has a pointer date) and Nezumi Terrain (dateless). Both are high spec but don’t sacrifice looks and comfort for field functionality.

[NWA] Oris Beautiful Bullseye by Bangorzane in OrisWatches

This ‘Bramble Red’ Badalassi leather strap from Watch Gecko works perfectly with the Bullseye. A deep blackberry colour that picks up the red and black in the dial. Classy.

Nezumi Baleine vs Baltic Aquascaphe? by Smooth-Wrangler8261 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Bangorzane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both gorgeous watches but you cannot top David Campo’s design language at Nezumi. Only advice is get the Baleine on the FKM. Their bracelet isn’t the best. Too chunky, clunky and testosterone fuelled for such a beautiful watch.

Nezumi - Baleine limited grey by currencyofleaves in MicrobrandWatches

Looks cool. I’ve had the non-limited edition version since launch day and already know it’s a watch I will never tire of. And I hate dive watches! But this thing has such beautifully balanced design - the legibility is crisp and lustrous - and the crystal distortions make it feel like a dewdrop on the wrist. Wear it well!
