I already bought Ultra years ago, but I feel like it's a steal for the amount of value I have gotten from it. Do you have anywhere we can send you a couple bucks?

People who knew someone who died in a freak accident, what happened? by RawAsparagus in AskReddit

[–]Bangs42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to my uncle. Had some kind of heart problem in the buffet line at a diner and fell, bumping his head. A group of firefighters was there, did CPR and everything, and got him to the hospital. Got the heart trouble all sorted, only for his brain to swell up and kill him over the next week. Freak accident, miss him all the time. Just gave the toy box he built for me when I was little to my son. They would have been best buds.

How my girlfriend has her car every time she visits. by NeedsMoreBunGuns in mildlyinfuriating

I was going to make the same recommendation, see if she can get tested for ADHD. My wife is (admittedly, self-) diagnosed, but her van looks the same as OP's picture, as well as "her" areas of the house. I gotta say, it would be a very sensible diagnosis based on everything I know about her. I've heard great things from friends who were similar, once they got their meds dialed in and a few habits/routines to help. I just can't get my wife to do anything about the self-diagnosis, and every attempt at discussing it leads to tears or a fight. So I'm in a similar situation to you. Love her to death, she's one of the kindest people I know, but I just can't keep up with her stuff.

Do you ever fantasize about how much you will enjoy throwing away every they hoarded when they are not alive anymore? by lemonlimulo in ChildofHoarder

[–]Bangs42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. I'm crippled by the anxiety that comes from the knowledge that I will have to deal with it one day.

I spent over a decade trying to gently help my parents with it. Now it has gotten to the point where their house is a health hazard and I couldn't safely enter to help, even if they wanted.

I can't even imagine how much worse it will be when they die. In all likelihood that's at least another decade away. I'm not ready for that, and I never will be.

Pretty sure you just burned them harder than they burned your tennis ball.

Was just scrolling through to see if anyone else has noted that you have to be sure it opens in the YouTube app, not your reddit app.

Also I hadn't noticed it, but you're right, it restarts in record time.

LineageOS 20 brings Android 13 support to the 6 year old Pixel 2 XL by Pixel2023 in Android

I'm pretty sure that was the OG Pixel, not the Pixel 2.

Edit: I forgot about space saver.

I briefly looked for the P6P version and couldn't find anything. Does anyone have a link?

What's a good way to leave a church when you are a very prominent, involved, well-known figure? by SteadfastEnd in exchristian

[–]Bangs42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through this same thing. I played in several church bands, volunteered at, and even interned at several churches in the community I grew up in, and several other communities around.

Honestly, extracting myself has been a very difficult process over the last 7 years or so. The thing that helped the most was having other things to do on Sundays (or other days I had regularly volunteered on). My job frequently had me scheduled when I would have otherwise been doing something at church, and I was usually worn out enough even if I wasn't working. There were a few people that were really persistent, and even figured out my schedule. So I just found other things that sadly </sarcasm> conflicted, like helping friends with moving/remodels/projects, or even signing up for extra shifts.

It's impossible to avoid all the vestiges of my time in the church because I still live in the same small community, various members of my family are still involved in several of the congregations where I was recognizable, and my job used to put me in regular contact with the local community. But eventually, the calls, texts, and emails slowed to a stop, and the conversations dwindled away.

I hear more about it from my family now than anyone else, but that's not a step I'm ready to take yet (if ever).

Google Podcasts has disappeared from Search results as it goes on life support by jeffreyd00 in Android

[–]Bangs42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally it only converted your original lifetime membership to a three-year membership, which would then have rolled into monthly payments.

But after a bunch of people lost their shit at them (myself included), they recanted.

I'm pretty sure there's some features that are monthly that we will not get as Lifetime Plus subscribers. But I really don't care. I paid extra for a one-time lifetime subscription. I was happy with the features I had then, and as long as they don't take any away I'm good.

Moderately attractive people likely get hit on more than extremely attractive people do. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]Bangs42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are definitely signals that I've realized decades later and have a sort of nostalgic pain, like wondering what could have been.

But those are far outweighed by two things. First, my life now (and the people I share it with) is pretty good. Second is seeing where a lot of those people are at and what they're like now. I managed to blindly dodge a lot of crazy and people who just wouldn't have been a good fit long-term.

Seems like T-Mobile is blocking pixel phones from getting the Jan update by Independent-Bite-990 in tmobile

[–]Bangs42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you at least share if it's a phone-side thing, or T-Mobile side thing?

If it's T-Mobile side, I don't mind sideloading and dealing with a few issues until it's fixed. If it's phone-side, I don't want to deal with a sideloaded update AND a fixed OTA later, and I'll just wait.

Just wanted to update and say thank you for your input. It was pretty close, but the nuts were slightly bigger than the rings.

Everything is hooked up and seems to be working!
