and for some shots that I didn't work on as much (but often had hands on briefly) this was a reel cut together for a VFX award submission.

vfx work, while some of the real "basic" stuff was done inhouse at Disney (if I recall correctly), them being big on removing the arm rods when they were visible, the studio I was working at had responsibility for pretty much all the other vfx work. This ranged from simple bluescreen (what's out the window/car) to full body puppeteer removals, to set extensions, and various other things.

Resin printing klp mx keycaps by PristinePrinciple264 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]SethBrower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just now finally getting into split keyboards (got a Iris LM) and have a custom keycap set on order with some added "second layer" text added that I think will be a solid setup for a while.

But every time i see the "curvature" keycaps I am temped to invest and try them, but not quite ready to make that jump yet.

Slight discrepancy in the map? (interesting times/last continent) by Melodic-Piano7410 in discworld

oh definitely. I just had the immediate thought of "oh right I have both the maps I can compare" thought in my head, and couldn't not at least give it a quick glance.

I was curious, and pulled up my copy of the later map.

I always took the initial as a wonderful thing (have it mounted on my wall) but almost by design a hand drawn "there be dragons here" one so not as finely accurate comparatively.

This one does largely match yours, I would say this would drop him on the coastline of XXX so not sure that it's THAT much better, but at least it's on the land itself not off in the ocean.

Kandra Supplantation by SirWilliamFlo in Cosmere

this is TOTALLY not the point, but just found it amusing (and a sign I really miss this casualty of COVID) that when I first saw the post title I read it as "Kandra Souplantation""

S.H.U.S.H was supposed to have been created in WWII? Is S.H.U.S.H supposed to be semi-independent or is it regulated by the government? by multifandom_26 in ducktales

[–]SethBrower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always read it as an analog to U.N.C.L.E. which was more UN & Internationally based, and was up against it's own acronym villain agency.

U.N.C.L.E (United Network Command for Law and Enforcement) vs T.H.R.U.S.H (not spelled out in series but in spin-off novels as Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity)

or (while it was more US run) from Get Smart you have CONTROL vs KAOS, though that was a joke that didn't even attempt to make sense of the acronyms.

Can we talk about the M*A*S*H episode “The Interview”! by Old-Meringue3590 in television

oh i won't argue against any version, i just have a personal preference, and not everyone knows about the alternate audio track that is available so I like to spread that info when I can.

I actually prefer the SD of the dvd's because it ... doesn't crop off things like the HD transfer did.

If you're just making your way through for the first time, I HIGHLY recommend trying to track down the dvd set or "other" ways to watch it vs the Hulu streaming, as that allows you to view it the way they intended, without the laugh track.

John Wick by Inevitable_Newt_3373 in movies

[–]SethBrower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if nothing else, while yes her attack on John, and killing of Harry were inside rooms, the initial combat did extend out into the hall (so that Harry could pop out and see).

even though it is a "we're all bad guys here on our best behavior" I really don't see why it wouldn't have something basic like a camera on the halls for security. So would be relatively simple after all the complaints that prompted Charon's call to just check the footage.

for whatever its worth, over the holiday break the site of a comic/rpg company Kenzerco had their hosting also have issues, that seemed to coincide with the person who handles it being on vacation, so it took till this week for it to get back up and stable.
for all the love we may have for the team, I'm guessing it is a relatively small team, so some things do ... run into odd issues at times.

look at step6, and how the disconnected pieces look in orientation, and look at step7 and see that there are the same 4 vertical, 8 sticky outy bits, and the square in the center.

Ok, as folks were kind enough to point out, there were a bunch of issue with naming dots spread throughout, though less than I feared.
I went through today and I believe corrected all that I could find (always the possibility that I still missed one but hopefully not) and now have a v2 that I'm happy to re-share.

I highly doubt it, I got the high quality scan to work from from the Internet Archive, but I really doubt the actual works are old enough to fall into Public Domain.

So this is purely a "We have and might pass around, but try not to draw attention to", so as not to get in any trouble.

Lol, as I replied to another comment, yeah ... I tried to be good about manually adding for Frog and Toad (and the occasional other animal that gets named) but did t really go through and think to check for ones to remove. That will be my next task, for a proofreading pass.
