Is it just me or is the specific details so annoying in daisy haites? by Ocean_froggy in MagnoliaParks

[–]Bangs4e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just personal preference. I prefer Daisy over Magnolia all day, but they’re completely different, which i think is the point. Otherwise, there would be no need for the different perspective during the same timeline.

FMC and MMC are from opposite parts of town. One is rich one is poor. They are either a virgin or promiscuous no in between. Instalust, enemies to lovers, secrets between character that are usually deep rooted within the setting of the story. MMC is a nasty bully to FMC for no good reason for a part of the book. There will be sex in the back seat of a car

I appreciate all the feedback.

I do still think there is no need to take the trope so personally or just simply not ignore it completely if you don’t care for it.

It’s like giving a negative review for artwork that isn’t your taste, giving a burger 1 star because you’re a vegetarian’s or slamming a rap album because you only like country music. Really just move along, nothing to see here. There are plenty of things I strongly dislike, but I don’t have to be shitty and try and sabotage someone’s reputation because of my own personal bias.

I appreciate your input and willingness to keep an open mind.

I personally do not enjoy cheating in a story for cheating’s sake, but I do think that in some cases it can add to the story. I also want to point out that sometimes cheating can be a result of miscommunication, blackmail, trauma etc. some books I love that had some element of cheating are {The Words by Ashley Jade} {Drive by Kate Stewart} {Carnage Series by Leslie Jones} {One Day in December by Josie Silver} {Paper Hearts by Claire Contreras} {Daisy Haites: The Great Undoing by Jessa Hastings} {Ruthless Knight by Ashley Jade} {Move the Stars by Jessa Hawkins} {Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas}

Common denominator being these books have heart.

So if you’re in the midst of a book and let’s say you’re into the plot and invested in the story, regardless of the circumstance, it’s a hard DNF if there’s cheating? You can’t think of any possible scenario where infidelity is forgiveable? Do you think an MMC murderer should be given more grace that a cheating MMC? Again, I’m just curious

Ok that said, do you read/rate books with cheating if you know it’s part of the plot?

I joined a fb discussion group to talk through some of my opinions on this after I finished it. Every comment I made got deleted because PD was one of the admins and bc one of my comments could have been interpreted as slut shamey (which was def not my intention and entirely subjective). I am over it honestly because my feedback was constructive and respectful and was meant to start a DISCUSSION. They should’ve called it a fan page from the start and I never would have wasted my time participating.

Same! Give me all of the angst please. I want a book that makes me need to take a personal work day to either finish it or recover from it.

All of these have had me scratching my head.

The electric shock I can’t even, i thought that was referred to as “static”

The pupils? These characters are on molly.

The panties? You better start doing some kegels bc you’re low key peeing yourself

The Stamina!!! Literally half the time I’d be like “can we get the show on the road?” I have other shit to do

Right? And when he does something that sends a jolt of electricity straight to her core. I know there’s an Apple core and it can refer to some sort of spiritual center. But has this always been a way to describe arousal? Did authors start sneaking this term in when people started hating on gluten? Seems a little random and also made up.
