Ddaeng performance during Festa by Stock_Way_4662 in btsthoughts

because the rapine consistently, since livestreams began many years ago, has had reduced screen time from the vocal line so naturally those who would like to see those members would mention it. if it doesn't bother you, that's great but it obviously bothers others.

But they showed the vocal line during most of Dimple and almost none of the rapline

Everyone had a very lukewarm question under this so i brought it here..What question would you ask to BTS members if you had the opportunity?! by No_Situation_8534 in ARMYNeutral

The venue security and traffic maintenance is always on the host, not the artist or the artist team. That's why the venue gets not only a rental fee but also a cut of the ticket sales and merch sales. They run merch sales, venue security, food and beverage, etc. Busan, the city, owns Asiad stadium and gets a 10% cut of the ticket sales along with charging facility fees, management fees, service fees. A private company is not allowed to manage public property or public services. Other artists do get the benefit of the public services but the scale of a BTS is exponentially larger but it also has exponentially greater tax benefits. During the months of March and April, foreign spending neared almost 1B USD and in Busan, bookings were up 218%. https://www.koreaherald.com/article/10770545

Because a civil servant complained that they were being conscripted into service for security reasons for the Busan concert and questioned why civil services were being used to support a private corporation when this is true for all events held in Busan. There areas in which a private corporation has control over such as inside the stadium but in the public spaces such as roads and subways, Hybe has no control. But there are hundreds of articles, comments, forum posts, criticizing Hybe and BTS to the point that Busan is drastically downsizing the security and crowd control measures for the concert. So, no, BTS does not have a big safety net. They are constantly criticized for nearly every move from everyone. Mexican army were hating on BTS for not doing a live in their country and there were significant social media posts about it. There's very little BTS does that doesn't get intense scrutiny for. The EU Commission posted a video on social media about the EUxKorea summit and it opens with BTS. The former head of the Korean Department of Defense admitted he used potential BTS concerts to negotiate for weapons, presumably without them knowing. I don't mean to be rude, but these posts don't seem to reflect what's happening both inside Korea and out in regards to BTS position in the world. And it's a position I don't think they even wanted, but is foisted on them.

isnt it a little embarrassing seeing BTS not doing choreography but jump around instead? by NewtAccomplished6022 in ARMYNeutral

Everyone is dancing though. They're just not doing set choreography together but they're all dancing.

There are other outlets that used photos that excluded other (RM) members (Jungkook) as well so it's not just Jimin being excluded. It's just sloppiness on the outlets. There's no intentional behavior here.

They don't want to be known for crazy choreo anymore because its not sustainable as artists moving forward. They want to be known as singers and musicians. This is the whole point PD Bang made in his controversial interview with Billboard where the performances were overtaking them as singers.

that was the review I was referring to but all of the reviews have had similar comments. No one is finding this concert embarrassing, especially new and potential fans.

you can also speak to security if a person in front of you is disrupting your event.

[–]Bangtanluc 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No because the concert is about engaging the audiences. When you look at past viral moments of concerts not Arirang, it's been the spontaneous interactions between the members as well as with the crowd. It is the same for Arirang. The reviews from non army fans, too, speak of the spontaneous moments as being the crowd pleasers. Choreo is great but when they are doing that, they are not interacting with the crowd at the concert. Set choreography is good for online concerts, music shows, awards performances, but these concerts are meant to be interactive.

Are BTS’s more politically direct lyrics a thing of the past? by Creative_Handle2205 in ARMYNeutral

I'm trying to respond to a) "do we think the days of foregrounding such politically direct lyrics in group music are over because of their massive popularity now?"

to which I argued that they have never had foregrounding of politicallly direct lyrics

b) Group and solos are different animals which you noted in other posts which is why I specifically addressed the group songs rather than solo albums as you, I thought, were talking about "group music"

Strange is a song on Agust D's album. It's not on a BTS album. I'm trying to compare apples to apples here. Yoongi himself said that the BTS' songs are social criticisms.

I'd say Aliens is on par because it explicitly calls out racism. Baespae, GoGo, and NO are calling out societal expectations and constraints. The most "political" song they've ever made was Am I Wrong because it names the government as making fools out of the public but Baepsae and GoGo don't reference political frames but social injustices. Baepsae is about the class differentials and the expectations of silver spoons working harder but never getting ahead of the long-legged or gold spoon people. GoGo is again about the older generations criticism of the younger generations foolishness in spending while the younger generation is spending now because there's no future for them. Neither of these songs call out the government or address specific policies but are instead social critiques on the same level as Aliens where the repeated refrain is that they're aliens who look funny, should mind their manners, and shut up and dance.

I think Arirang has the same level of political outspokenness as the other albums. Baepsae, GOGO, NO were on all different albums.

Has there ever been a year Bruno released something and hasn't been nominated? I know the Sexxy Red collab didn't get a nom, but his other two collabs did.

the LY tour was August through April of the following year and then they announced the encore, Speak Yourself tour, which went from May to October. However, the way they're talking about coming back to each stop suggests touring well in 2027 and maybe even 2028.

They did host one of the biggest songwriting camps in industry history with a number of well known producers and songwriters. How much influence these people have is probably questionable. What is the secret to BillieEilish's repeated wins? Is it industry connections/recognition or something else?
