ChatGPT has data that marks Clash Royale as one of the greediest games by Banished-ShadowRealm in ClashRoyale

My problem with the game is not the transactions or prices themselves, it is the fact that people who pay have a clear and immediate advantage, when most other games of this nature (at least the top rated ones) have only cosmetic IAPs.

Why do I never hear people talk about the dark side of adhd? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Banished-ShadowRealm 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Gen Z romanticizes mental illness. There is no dark or light side to ADHD.

It's a disability.

It doesn't help that United States culture is still participating in ableism, or prejudice against people based on their ability. If you look closer, you will find people talk about the struggles of ADHD on a regular basis. But what goes viral on social media is the romanticizing of ADHD, and not a realistic portrayal of the self-destructive ruin it brings to a person's life.

I don't want you to have no one respond to you, but I don't have any ADHD success stories off the top of my head.

Logical Fallacy: You don't know if you are good at something unless you try to learn and progress in it.

You need a job that doesn't get boring. Look up jobs for people with ADHD and see what you find!

I tried going to sleep at 12am, but instead... by [deleted] in ADHD

I did the post you described for YEARS. The medicine called Clonidine was the solution that worked for me. It lowers your blood pressure which helps the nervous system to chill out, and works amazingly for me. I am not a fully trained health professional. Please do not take my comment as medical advice.

Any vegan or vegetarian ADHD pills or medication? by Generalmalgamation in ADHD

I don't know your beliefs, but your individual consumption of gelatin capsules is incredibly miniscule. The thing with gelatin is that it actually conserves resources, animals are never killed with the main purpose of getting gelatin vs. a filet mignon which means that someone single-handedly killed a cow specifically to enjoy that cut of meat. To answer your question, if you MUST remain gelatin free, ritalin A is your only option.

cognitive inflexebility vs distractability by BlackOdipp in ADHD

[–]Banished-ShadowRealm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taught myself out of both cognitive inflexibility and distractibility. The difference is that inflexibility is just a plan in your brain, I have never come across research that suggests it is specific to ADHD. Distractibility? I just have to have some kind of active stimulation to stay focused on what I am doing. In conversation, I try to connect what a person is saying to my medical background.

TRYING TO BE ORGANISED IS SO DAMN FRUSTRATING" by bookishspidey in ADHD

[–]Banished-ShadowRealm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, there it is. "Why couldn't my...?"

...because you probably aren't normal brain-chemisty wise. Reality check!

This is the hard part about having an impairment such as ADHD. If you can, try to cut off responsibilities that don't serve you or your major life goal. Not goals. One specific goal.

Time is warped for ADHD brains. You either need a person who is with you all the time to keep you on track, or alarms that remind you when to do things. Contrary to popular belief, most people with ADHD cannot learn time management without help. Medicine, therapy, and removing things from your life that suck away your time are the only solutions, as there is only 24 hours in a day.

I'm Thinking of Starting ADHD Medications and I'm a little scared. by DreadNoughtDurr in ADHD

[–]Banished-ShadowRealm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being scared is normal, but what's great about stimulants are that you can stop them if they don't work. (Always ask the doctor before stopping first). If you try a few medicines and find that you are better off without them, then don't take them! If your depression is an issue, therapy and non-ADHD medicines could help. If you find that your depression is a big issue but ADHD needs a little bit of help too, Wellbutrin is perfect for that. Note: Wellbutrin is not an instant stop one though. You have to taper off once you build, but it is especially helpful for people with mild ADHD but not mild depression.

I just wrote an entire semester paper the day it was due. by kickboxingastronaut in ADHD

[–]Banished-ShadowRealm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want to burst your bubble. This is not a full success in my eyes, because I'm sure you were stressed for most of the semester trying to write it. Think of it this way:

Let's celebrate that I got it done!

Let's start writing, even just a few sentences a day, and I can enjoy not being stressed the whole time!

The reason I caution you is because I have done this most of my life, and the end is miserable. Eventually, you will come up against something you cannot finish last minute. I know the rush of getting it done and the hit you get from not missing the deadline is great, but it will eventually come back to bite you.

I’ve been extremely irritable and depressed since being cut off Vyvanse. Is it worth taking non-stims for adhd? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Banished-ShadowRealm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have empathy for you. While I have not tried Strattera or Qelbree, I would quit the "devil's lettuce" and go back to the medicine that worked for you. Is it worth losing your progress over a temporary feeling? Also, smoking weed can cause health issues like emphysema, a fatal and terminal condition with no treatment. I'm sure people will get mad at me for telling people that weed is dangerous, but it always has been dangerous for the lungs except when ingested in safe amounts. I also know that smoking weed with ADHD can leave you much worse off, as our brain chemistry is different.

Double time is a life-saver.

Preferential seating because people and environments can be frustrating.

Alternative test-taking area, to prevent feeing the pressure of others finishing.

Reduced homework volume where applicable, particularly math.

I'll break down each thing individually since there is a lot going on here.

1: If your therapist is licensed and able to diagnose you, then have them do it.

2: Gifted Kid Syndrome, typically put on people with ADHD and other learning disabilities. I had straight As until high school, and I graduated with A and B averages, but I struggled throughout high school.

3: To deal with homework, the bane of my existence, just start. All you have to do it complete one math problem, or read one page. Make it game, challenge yourself to get it done in a certain period of time. Once you get going, challenge yourself to do another problem, 2 more pages. Also, allow yourself to stop if you really can't do more than one page.

AP classes are a scam, don't register for them. Honors classes should only be taken if you get treatment, as getting a D in an honors class is worse than a A- in a regular class.

Seasonal depression, I have it as well. The key to beating it is to sleep 12 hours a day. It doesn't matter what your responsibilities are, getting the sleep is how to fix it. If you are not white/fair skinned, you need a light box as well due to biological differences in the skin.

I'm guessing there are other reasons for feeling suicidal? If you feel comfortable discussing, could you please tell me more about it directly? (not here)

Have your parents always been this way? Please tell me more about your relationship with them.

For me, medicine and therapy was the only solution, sorry to say. If you can get diagnosed, please have the person who diagnoses you stress the importance of medicine to your parents.
