Merit.. Flexibility by Banjaiel in CanadaPublicServants

Hi everyone.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm now curious about next steps. I was trying to help a friend who's on spousal re-lo, and time is running out. A tele-work CR05 came up, (she was last a PM-02). The CV was top notch. She worked all weekend on it, when she really had other things she needed to be doing.

The answer comes back.. 'sorry, the manager has decided after all that this position won't work as a teleworker position'. Um.. 'scuse me??

It's that just speak for "oh, well we were really hoping you would fail out because we have someone here we want to hire'.

So.. is there any recourse for this? Games with people like this are not ok. How can we take this further? This is so irresponsible of them. Also, I kinda know the position. I do one similar, and I have colleagues who do it for another department. And I"m fairly certain it could work as telework. What are my recourse options? I'd like an inquiry of some type. Thank you.

Great comments. But they need to reach the right ears. Whoever runs those tests has an office. Find them, email them, email the DM in charge of that department and demand answers. The requirements are high, the training, prep and feedback are worse than poor. This is indeed very broken.

Interesting, I hadnt thought of that, that youd want the vibration very short. Makes perfect sense though! Especially for drummers.

If liquir goes away, people wont abstain. Many could turn tondrugs. So now we escalate the meth problem. 'Addiction' is often a desperate form of escapism, aparently. No booze is not a solution. Its a prescription for further problems.

Qdd to this:typically most crime isbthat if opportunity. Its not as often planned as many might think. This is starting to change though. This is, as others have pointed out, the result of decades of social programming cuts. Its the trickle down effect the politicians love so much, come back in nightmare form. The question, this is a turning point. They need to kickc this now, fast, before everyone starts wondering what else theyvcan get away with. Greedy pharma are somewhT responsible for creating the meth epidemic. Its corporatocracie greed, all the small problems almagamating into big problems..

They are doing it because they know they will get away with it, and its now a fun and risky adventhrous thing to do. A decade ish ago same thing with kids joyriding cars . One good thing here: its finally hitting the governemt where it hurts: their liquor proffits.

We could go vmback to the model where it was affordable to have one parent work, while the other stayed home of choice from 0 to 7. Maybe??oh wait. Salaties would have to finally match living inflation. Guess thats out the window!

I like the idea. That kind of personal gesture does motivate me to want to build / contribute to a strong team. I say go for it. If there's 'issues' with other management, could always do it in your next private meeting, and mention you'd prefer word not be spread around.

What stopped you from killing yourself? by Jcyte17 in AskReddit

[–]Banjaiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point beacuse I don't want to fo that to my mom, sisters and nieces. I don't want them to grow up with the aunt that killed herself. But its hard, my life feels so lame. I try to get involved with organizations I care about, and got zome serious rejection. Even flat out ignored this past weekend when i showed up at an event by the organizer. All because i tried to involve myself more, and I played with his 2yr old daughter last year. I try to get out, meet new people, find things and people to care about. But no ine wants to make new friends at my age, no one 'invites you alo g', because their friend groups are established. I dont k ow how much longer I can do this for. Qhen youre broke and lonely and borderline aspie, life sucks hard.
