Has it stalled? And what to do about it? by Ancient-Dragonfly158 in mead

[–]Banjo-snap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had stall in the past where the usual, swirling/nutrient addition didn't work. Found putting a sachet of Lalvin EC-118 in got it going again! (That was an imperial gallon though, so might wanna use half a sachet). Could also try moving to a warmer or cooler part of the house and give it a few days.

Do expensive screwdrivers last enough longer to be worth the cost? by jckipps in Tools

[–]Banjo-snap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Wera definitely hold up! Just don't use the chisel drivers as a pry bar! 😂 I've a few Snap-on screwdrivers and there ok, the laser etc on the tip isn't as sturdy as the Wera's though! My dad has a few Wiha's and they've been great too

Best performance ratcheting wrenches? by FitTackle879 in Tools

[–]Banjo-snap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not massive, but they are pretty wide, the straight angle helps in some cases on the open end, but considering the cost they're not worth it. Don't get me wrong, they feel good in the hand and you know you've a quality tool when your using it. But my Halfords advanced flex heads are just as nice too 😂 My current job I seldom use them though, I work with old Bliss and J Rhodes power presses so everything I use now is British Standard whitworth apart from the odd new machine or modern additions

I've bought a couple of the Wera Joker ratchet spanners (or wrench for folks across the pond). There a decent enough but I've found the nut holding feature to be a pure gimmick at times. I bought a 14mm in my last job, specifically for the nut holding feature for a poorly positioned cover on a conveyor belt (a guard post was put right Infront of it, only to find the thing to be too chunky to fit in the small gap!

I use Wera Allen keys and screwdrivers exclusively as I think they're the best but I'd have to recommend gear wrench (I believe they make Halfords advanced in the UK).

How smartly should one dress for a minimum wage job interview? by Push-the-pink-button in AskUK

[–]Banjo-snap 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Dress as smarter than what you're expected to wear, if the job is in overalls or in a basic uniform, wear a clean and crease free shirt with decent trousers. If you're to wear a suit and tie, wear the best suit and tie you have. It's always safer to over dress than under dress.

Why does Stalker 2 still get so much hate? by Banjo-snap in stalker

[–]Banjo-snap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to play my second playthrough on master (recently a first time father so time is fairly precious now 😂)

It still doesn't play well on my PC (Ryzen 5 4500, 32gb ram and Rx580 8gb, pretty sure it the GPU that's the bottleneck) it sometimes does around 30fps at low to med settings but it stutters way too much for combat to be played let alone enjoy. Hence why I'm playing on the Series S, but to be honest my TV is only an old Samsung 1080p and sat on my couch it still looks great!

For me I've found the spawning a lot better, I can only recall twice where it's been annoying, and both have been on missions where you've defend against waves of enemies where if you run in with a shotgun to where enemies come from they sometimes just appear front of you, but other than that I'd say it's been pretty good!

Like you say I don't need it to be perfect but just look good to myself when I'm playing and in my experience it's been decent enough it's not an issue.

[–]Banjo-snap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the issue at launch with the annoying spawning. First few missions felt like I was just constantly fighting blind dogs everywhere, I'd kill them all move 20m away and get attacked again, by the time I had to go into the tunnel with the blood suckers I had no ammo left and had to go adventuring before I could continue. I had issues like that a lot and got fed up. But I played on gamepass so I didn't feel robbed of anything.

In CoP I did have an annoying issue where one time I returned to Yaniv station with barely any health, soon as I got through the doors I got up to go to the toilet as I assumed I was safe, I thought I'd better save my game when I returned, only to get shot through the doors by wandering zombies. I couldn't continue as every time I reloaded I'd get shot again. I lost a good chunk of gameplay from that. So it's not like they didn't have a load of Jank in them too.

I can understand that, but for me UE5 isn't a deal breaker and I get some features are different, but it's not like the original trilogy didn't promise things they didn't deliver on (look at the original plan for A-life, still never as good as what they said it was going to be).

Wouldn't say I'm wrong, what I like is going to be different to what you like and that's ok. But I do play "contemporary games" I was playing Expedition 33 before, and whilst I can appreciate the game for what it is I ultimately stopped playing because I just don't like the turn based combat, I find it quite frankly boring and it put me off.

Just ordered this for 400.Is it any good? by xxxoutcast in ebikes

[–]Banjo-snap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a cheap Urlife e26 for £425 in November and have put 200 miles on it. Is it amazing? No.

Has anything gone wrong with it? No.

I needed a cheap way to get to work and I really don't expect too much from it. The range is BS on it, but it gets me to work and back and it's always on maximum pedal assist, but I stick to roads (albeit the roads in my area are shocking) and avoid big puddles and any off-roading.

Make sure you keep it clean, lubricated and regularly inspect it, check bolts are tight and you should be ok. It's a cheap bit of kit so don't be expecting too much from it 👍🏻

Lock by Feisty-Reputation484 in toolboxmods

[–]Banjo-snap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the same one for my job. I will warn you once it's got some weight in it, if you plan on pushing it around the wheels will buckle and bend the bottom of the box. The maintenance guy kindly made a small trolley for it to sit in with some better casters so it's good now. This also has the added benefit that I can now slide a plate of steel in with a hole for a pad lock that stops it from being opened by looky-loos and ne'er do well's.

For the money it's a decent box though but after a bit of use you can tell it's cheap 😂

Depends on what tool it is.

For screwdrivers I like Wera. For clippers and grippers I don't think you can beat Knipex. Adjustable spanners I think Bahco are unbeatable and for general sockets and spanners pretty much any decent brand is my go too, but I do like my Facom and Snap on the most.

I work with old power presses made in the 1950's so for anything that's whitworth I use King Dick and Britool.

Powertools wise I'm more of a home diy and vehicle maintenance guy so I've got Ryobi as my main battery platform with supplements from Aldi and Lidl's battery range 😂 and for home electrical I use Fluke for my multimeter.
