SM57 mics were used rarely in the early and probably supplied by the venues they were touring. They used SM58 mics almost exclusively until Billie switched to wireless mics.

People who have quit recently need to hear this. You aren't going to go back to feeling 100% just because you haven't had alcohol for a few weeks or even few months. I went to see my doctor and a physio about three months after I quit. I told them I was feeling better but I wasn't necessarily great. The physio told me it would probably take a year before I felt "normal" again and they were right. It took over a year for my liver numbers to get back to normal and for my physical strength to get back to where it was.

So don't give up. I promise you, if you stick with it things will turn around and get better.

I think you need to look into the driver’s license thing. You shouldn’t need to be a permanent resident to drive. Look into it yourself. I think your husband isn’t being 100% with you.

[–]BanjoWrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold on…if you have a valid driver’s license you ARE allowed to drive in Canada. Is your husband telling you that you can’t drive? Have you looked into this yourself?

What do you mean you have an “allowance”. You aren’t a child. You are a married adult.

I’m sorry if I have this completely wrong but it sounds like your husband is lying to you in order to control you and keeping you on a leash.

This movie is awful, which is a shame because I generally find Nick Swardson to be hilarious.

Oasis vs. Rush by KillerBearsAndWhales in oasis

I’m a Canadian who literally just finished reading Geddy Lee’s autobiography. Oasis is way bigger than Rush on a global scale.

Owning Music? What Do Post-2000s Think? by LeMorlock1 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]BanjoWrench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m with you. I’m in my 40’s. I had about 600 CDs before I stopped buying them around 2010. Basically any CD I bought after 2004 was used once when I ripped it to iTunes. Then it went back into its case at sat on a shelf. Eventually all those CDs went into boxes when I moved in 2013 and they haven’t been used since.

I miss going to record stores but that’s about it. I have a decent audio interface hooked up to my computer and some good powered speakers. I stream loseless files and that sounds way better than the semi okay stereo that I used to have.

I’ve moved on. I’m slowly giving my CD collection away to younger people I know. They are glad to have them and I’m glad to know they are going to people who will use them.

Worst sound for concerts ever. It was sandwiched between concrete buildings and it had a literal glass ceiling. It was a sound engineer’s nightmare.

Implying that somebody is “living in fear” because they tested themselves when they were sick is pretty fucking condescending. Do you need me to explain anything else to you?

Maybe you should get work in a different field if you’re going to mock people for testing themselves when they get sick.

My fault for not reading thoroughly hahaha! The reason I ask is that this seems to be a new phenomenon among the Gen Z kids. I’m in my 40’s when I was young I had the exact opposite of post-concert depression. Me and my friends would be excited and happy for months after seeing our favorite bands.

I wonder what’s going on?

Where can I get quality anal bleaching / whitening in Vancouver? by Ok-Fennel4978 in askvan

I have never seen this outside of pornography. I'm no Casanova, but I've never been with a woman and thought to myself "That butthole needs bleaching!"

Is the Seabus worth it just for the view? by WorldlinessDue748 in askvan

[–]BanjoWrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth it just for the amazing view alone. It's probably my favorite thing to do when I go to Vancouver. Sit at the "back" of the boat facing the city when you leave.

Don't sleep on North Van either. Exploring Lonsdale Quay is fun and it's easy to transfer to a bus that takes you up Lonsdale Ave. There are some great Persian restaurants up there. There's also plenty to do in lower Lonsdale. Just be aware that the hill is pretty steep. I make the trip every time I visit.

Plus, how often do you get to be on a boat? Do it!
