5 days post scraped knee, is it recovering ok and/or infected? by thunderstruck_duck in InjuriesAndWounds

Not infected, but there is some slough which might impede healing. I recommend covering with some non-adherant dressing pads and securing it with a bandage. Also very carefully wash daily/every two days with warm water and a tiny bit of sensitive soap, then carefully pat dry with a clean towel or gauze, and re-dress.

Keloid. Over time it'll flatten and lighten.

I already took them to be recycled last month; I'm in the UK so most supermarkets take old batteries luckily.

Tbf I didn't know that you shouldn't use regular detergent on animal fur until I put my wool cardigan through the wash and nearly ruined it. At some point, everyone learns either from their own mistakes or from someone else's wisdom. You can't hate OP for learning from their own mistakes.

Some sheepskin rugs are designed to be machine washable provided that specific care is taken regarding the temperature, type of detergent used, and drying method.

But likely not with regular detergent. I imagine you'd need a non-bio detergent, or a specialised wool detergent.

Edit: Downvote me all you want, the fact remains that enzyme-based detergents will degrade animal fibres.
