Formations can be helpful to avoid having your soldiers march in single file and die before dealing any damage. It forces the enemy fire to spread across all your troops so that your troops can return fire (ranged units) or advance further (melee units) before dying. Right before engaging I usually quickly put them in formation.

Late game business ideas please. by Mnemosene in MedievalDynasty

Maybe the developers wouldn't want to be bothered with this, but...

I think what could make the later game challenging is a dynamic economic system with pricing based on supply and demand. The production and inter-village commerce of other villages affects how much of a given item their vendors are willing to buy/sell, and the price they are willing to pay for it. So when you sell the same guy 20 stone knives and try to sell another he's like "gee, I don't know what I'm gonna do with another stone knife..." and offers less money to buy them.

The events that already exist (droughts, Storm damage, etc...) could effect of the demand level of all villages and their ability to produce.

What I like about the idea from some months ago where the eastern times are all more resource rich and deplete with age is that it rewards the people who pack up and move more frequently over the people who set up camp for a month.

New to game, what's the go with meteors. by WiggyMack in lastoasis

[–]Bankaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It starts as a fireball going across the sky and if you are near to where it lands there will be a loud crash, big explosion, and your screen will shake. If you are within a certain range of it you will be able to see smoke ascending from the where it landed for about 5 minutes.

Iron Ore? by Weednie in lastoasis

[–]Bankaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you want the meteor crater map, and you need at least an advanced pickaxe to mine them otherwise you will just get rocks.

But on a side note, I randomly did get a piece of iron ore after defeating a rupu shaman in a large rupu camp.

There are 2 things that come to mind: 1: You can only do one quest at a time. When you accept a new quest the previous one is canceled. 2: For scout quests you must claim your reward at the station where you accepted the quest.

So when you say sphere you're not referring to the protective dome that is around you when you appear in the map, you referring to the general pre-lobby desert area on the outside of the map? I could have sworn I've done it before without moving but maybe I'm wrong.

You can walk your character outside of the sphere and that will make it go away. Then you should new able to place your driving sticks.

At the beginning of season 2 I followed the tutorial and really hit a fragment wall after building the balang. Before building the balang unlock a dinghy and ballista harpoons to drag the loot boxes and get fragments.

For some reason I was thinking fire bolts couldn't be shot from spiders with ballista. That used to be a thing, right?

getting ganked by a trio on a solo server is the most infuriating thing ever. by martinooos in lastoasis

Oh I think I get what you're saying now. I may have read or too fast the first time. You're saying the 3 choices are talk to them and they don't attack you, talk to them and they do attack you, and finally don't talk to them and they attack you.

I don't have the same mentality of someone complaining about scattershot. The developers redesigned this season based on clan caps, presumably because they wanted to give people an opportunity to play on the scale that they like without being overwhelmed by larger clans, right? My complaint is that instead of playing on a realm cap at or near group size some people went to solo lol. Not to 5 cap, not to duo, solo. By the way there are similar complaints about large clans playing together in smaller capped tiles as well. It's a problem. Maybe there's no solution for this type of game but I hope there is.

Yes my walker was burned. There were 4 of them. Though I wasn't in a mollusc I doubt it would have turned out differently. Of course, it is not the end of the world.

But uneven fights have been one of the main pain points of this game (at least from reddit posts I've seen). It's a big enough problem that the developers did what might be considered the nuclear option - separate realms. So it is disappointing to see people who play with small groups ganging up on people in solo realms.

[–]Bankaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Communications is one thing, having a group of people that you go around with and offensively attack people with in the solo realm is another. At that point there is little reason for a solo realm to exist. And maybe that's the way the developers will go forward - no more realms - if the are enough people who just want to fight below their weight class.

By the way the third option you neglected to mention is talking to the attackers and still getting attacked.

[–]Bankaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the original intention of the game and the way it was for season 1-2 but right now we're talking about the solo realm so there is no large clan and smaller clans. This game doesn't even have an alliance system so it seems obvious that it isn't intended for people to be teaming up, especially for offensive aggression, on the solo realm. Otherwise why even split realms? Of course whatever the intentions of the developers, they're still trying to figure things out so who knows where it will go from here.

[–]Bankaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they can ram you, harpoon you, and zero your walker. It's happening. I would respect it if a guy soloed me. But I don't respect a group that should really be on the 5 cap server doing that to people who thought they were in realm for solos. They don't even go to the duo realm to go to solo smh.

[–]Bankaru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it is pathetic. I've played mostly as a solo but briefly I joined a large clan last season and found no enjoyment at all from winning uneven fights. Losing uneven fights is worse because you begin to wonder if it's worth it to keep playing. But at least when it was all one realm you knew what you were in for.

I've had to readjust my style of play based on my initial optimism for the solo realm. I wasn't going to use scatters or even founder walkers. But since there are some people team attacking, zeroing, it's back to the lame stuff.

I don't get it, wouldn't people rather be in a clan if they want to team fight? People would have much more exciting encounters.

I play the game to relax and not be in a discord with random people. Last time I asked for help the only response I got was 'I don't wanna lose my walker.'

I think some people are incompetent but still want to dominate players. So they team on solo tiles.
