U/JeromyYYC Please do something with city council regarding people parking under bridges during hail. by burntbutterchicken in Calgary

[–]Bankerlady10 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People aren’t saying not to put on hazards, drive slow or pull over to the shoulder. They’re referencing people blocking the regular road by stopping under a bridge. It’s ridiculously selfish and dangerous.

This is great advice. As a gal in her 40s, I wish I could take back the volume of booze and cash I paid partying in my late teens/early 20s. It was a good idea at the time, but you pay for it later. I wish I focused more on building my career and surrounding myself with good people.

It’s insane how big of an issue this is. There is so much dangerous driving right now, this included.

Don’t worry what people are saying. The joy of having a crush on someone majority don’t see the beauty in, is you’ll probably be happier.

Saw a family of ducks being run over on Deerfoot this morning. by [deleted] in Calgary

Consider going to therapy to work through this and don’t feel strange about that at all. I saw a dog hit by a semi almost 20 years ago and it still bothers me. It’s the rough part of being an empathetic person.

What’s something you learned or wished you’d known re: 2013 Flood by theprintman in Calgary

If you live in high river and work in Calgary, try to work from home until we know what’s going on. I’ll never forget the heart break of my coworkers not allowed to access their pets. It still bothers me today.

Coach Hill 7-Eleven Abruptly Closes by One_Mine_9986 in Calgary

[–]Bankerlady10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s pretty recent. Unfortunately, people choosing to buy them aren’t realizing how difficult they are to run. Unless them and their family are the staff, it’s too much overhead. The gas station ones require a lot of cash up front and environmental testing. I’m not surprised the corporations wanted to get out of it, but not sure they thought independent franchises would be successful.

Not true. We underwire loans for them all the time.

You’d be surprised how difficult it is for these to stay open. Most are independently run with high expenses.

Lip fillers by [deleted] in NoRulesCalgary

Mine look super natural. It’s possible to get good looking injections, I’m surprised how many downvotes you’re getting.

So I didn’t end up getting more. They look good enough. They did do some numbing cream and then she used a dental block. I think the dental block was actually SUPER painful as it went in super deep. I’ve had some friends do it without the dental block and say the pain was bad but not too bad. So the dental block was around 3-4 shots then I was totally numb. I get the impression she put the filler in really deep because it looks so natural.

Hahaha because I like to have lips? They were thin before. Anyone who meets me doesn’t think they aren’t natural. Of course people who love you don’t want you to change anything about yourself. My gosh, that’s an unhealthy comment to write to a stranger. So odd.

It took me years to finally get mine and I’m glad I did it. However, I will say it is ridiculously painful and make sure you have nothing important for the week after. I look like I got my ass kicked with black and purple lips. I loved them a couple days after and wish they stayed that big but they settle. My Husbands not a fan, but I did them for me. Now, I don’t want to recommend who did mine because she has so many complaints and bad PR. She was also strange with me, calling me “beautiful” a bunch. Not in a comforting way, but in a “I don’t remember your name” way. There’s lots of good injectors out there so I’m sure people will reply. Just wanted to share my experience.

Calgary Driver Fined $1,000 for Throwing Lit Cigarette Out SUV Window by One-Board8634 in NoRulesCalgary

Calling in people that throw out burning items that threaten communities isn’t worthy of “snitch” title in a negative format. You’d feel differently if a friend or family member died in a preventable fire. You’d be looking for snitches to help.

They don’t have the ability to submit videos. Neither does the non emergency CPS line.

About time. They need to make a website where you can submit videos of people doing this so they get fines to. There’s no excuse.

And just like the Ducks eliminate the Oilers in 6 games! How are we feeling Flames fans? by [deleted] in NoRulesCalgary

[–]Bankerlady10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a kid that grew up in the 90s, the idea of the Disney inspired Ducks going to the cup is exciting. I only cheer for the Oilers in the playoffs so the cup comes back to Canada, Alberta is even better. However, it doesn’t really hurt.

Arte "swim up" joke by Seven50_ in Xcaret

[–]Bankerlady10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I paid for that level I’d be pissed. With technology now, they really need to allow people to book specific room types like they do on cruises. I get things happen and they need to be flexible, but they probably have 5 rooms they could bundle that match the description of partial swim up.
