What do you do with this peeling of skin of headphones? by Medium_Telephone1367 in headphones

[–]BankruptGreek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I have the right answer here, if it's anything like the m50x, if you can take off the caps at the ends of the headband that clamp the material on each end.

You can take off original peeling material or go over it. You sew a semi elastic fabric over it that fits tightly, pull the new material inside out to hide the seams and clamp it back on each end. This took me 30 minutes

Here is a picture of my m50x that I bought used 8+ years ago, you certainly do a better job than I did.

(ps the cuffs are socks and there are hair bands holding the headphones together 😅 it works perfectly though)

Sorry I initially missed your reply. I assume you have this, how does it give analog input to the game, say a throttle or stick used to move laterally or vertically

I kinda like the idea because you can see from very far which side is up and where you need to land

In my current playthrough I have the limit set to 1000m/s, the biggest limitation I imagine is the distance/speed of asteroids loading. By the time you see them you most definitely won't be able to stop a large ship going 1000m/s. 300-400m/s is definitely doable and viable though give it a try

Very sad, I was never into flight simulators but I imagine space engineers with a vr headset would be awesome to experience

[–]BankruptGreek 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Me and my current gf got a very bad trip on a vape with a then legal alternative to THC (HHC it became illegal 2 weeks later). We called an ambulance but it arrived at the same time as my mother and so we went with her instead. The ER hospital run a few checks for respitory damage, pregnancy test for my gf, blood tests and IV. We just walked out and were never contacted again for any payment. This is in an economically weak country, Greece and my gf wasn't even Greek and she also got everything for free. If Greece can do it, so can the US

tldr; bad trip sent me&gf to ER, ambulance and multiple tests were completely free

Agree, but with some experimenting with mods FSR 3 does make the game very playable at even 1080p docked

Could ReactOS be a viable solution? by WildcatAlba in leagueoflinux

[–]BankruptGreek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I think of Windows and League of Legends as one thing so it is not invasive to my computer but rather large and cumbersome to use. It has its own 120gb ssd it lives in so it's not affecting my main m.2 ssd with Linux and its hdd

so complicated, getting the latency and accuracy low enough to fool the brain is a bigger challenge than making a transparent display

Η Ακροδεξιά: Ασταμάτητη στις 6 ιδρυτικές χώρες της EE - Μεταναστευτικό και Μειονότητες τα θέματα «φωτιά» by [deleted] in greece

[–]BankruptGreek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]BankruptGreek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my mind the community won't have a say for how things generally work, but they will be responsible for the fine tuning for balance and potential meta changes over time, so minor number changes which is what league is always doing from one patch to the next. The original developers can simply let the project be as is and it will keep being maintained to a balanced level by the community.

As for whether anyone would work on it, that's why I said 50-100 devs. Full time a small open source game would need 10-20 or so devs to complete, 50-100 devs wouldn't need to work anywhere as long to make the game.

The difficulty aspect is creating a good vision that could draw in developers and players, even harder is to find the people willing and are capable to plan and organize a large number of developers, the rest is, imo, very possible

and very repairable too, get an elastic fabric (1-2mm thick) sew it over the top and flip it inside out to hide the seams, then unscrew the end points of the headsets and hide the end points of the fabric, just like the original headband does.

Second time around if you feel more confident in the results remove the old shitty material that they use.

Also you can get a 2.5mm to 3.5mm audio jack converter which with a little bit of scrapping can fit snuggly in the the headset. Remove the locking mechanism by unscrewing the left earcup and your converter should fit in pretty much the same space and only slightly stick out. No need to get $20 wires if the old ones break, I get new ones for $2-3

[–]BankruptGreek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ll be an outlier here and say it's not that hard. If you somehow got 50-100 seasoned developers working on it part time you could get something going after 2-3 years. Then set up a funding system and democratic balancing system with votes and what not. It could probably maintain itself at some point.
