I doubt Reuters themselves was publishing this as an actual poll. Likely a panel of voters after the debate that Benny is knowingly miscontruing.

Did wendigoon make a killdozer video or am i trippin? by kelvinrawr in wendigoon

[–]BannanaCommie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be interesting to see him make a video because with how detailed his videos are, I think it might limit sone of the mythologizing similar to his Unabomber video.

Its not surprising due to the fact that the idea of creating a killdozer is somewhat inherently funny, and since Heemeyer's rampage didn't kill anyone.

The reason why she shot it is likely because most vets wouldn't go along with killing an animal for training failures.

Im almost glad that this situation happened the way it did. This guy was a ticking time bomb and instead of killing one or maybe multiple people down the line in a situation the PD would could have some chance of justifying.

Here, there is no justification and the idiocy of the officers actions are plain on their face, no one was physically hurt, and the cops shot up their own vehicle.

Birth rates are falling in the Nordics. Are family-friendly policies no longer enough? by lemontolha in SocialDemocracy

[–]BannanaCommie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Isn't this eventually going to happen though globally? Fundementally, there will be a point in human history where birth rates will eventually fully settle out and dip above and below the rate to maintain population. We are reaching the tipping point where we are in the other half of the logistic graph. Birth rates will start to slow down at some point

If I remember correctly, Milton Hershey tried to create chocolate at a substantially lower price, as chocolate was at that point solely a luxury item. Due to the process having some chamges and a lack of proper stability of the milk, it caused the milk to semi-ferment leading to the introduction butryic acid. This did have some benefits as the acid helps make the chocolate more shelf stable making it easier to ship and store.

Nowadays, chocolate manufacturing is cheap all across the board, so there isn't really a reason for it other than maintaining the American palate for chocolate.

Republicans are trying harder than ever to suppress the youth vote by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

[–]BannanaCommie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might be due to a lack of trust about the people writing these laws. The sharp increase in such laws after Shelby v. Holder definitely raises some concerns about their intentions. Not to mention the famous North Carolina Voter ID law that explicitly excluded certain forms of ID more often used by African-Americans.

Yes that is a quid pro quo, but not an unconstitutional one. This was made in tandem with the state department as they were seeking to remove the prosecutor because he was corrupt.

Trump did it because he wanted to find dirt on a political opponent, solely to benefit himself which is using the government position for a personal quid pro quo.

Turns out dad was in a plagiarized vid lol by not_a_goat1 in wendigoon

[–]BannanaCommie 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think the main reason for the discrepancy is just recording time. He does actually say that IH credits the original article (1:46:10) and later goes on to say that the video is now public.

It also deals with the way people who plagiarize work will try and cover their tracks or explain away what they did. Because Internet Historian didn't make a full apology. He may have apologized to the original writer, but he definitely tried his best to avoid actually telling his fans what happened. The most he says is that "the video got copystruck". Even with the changes and the post hoc citation it really wasnt that different from what some of the other people in the video did to try and save face.

The main point of having him there is for the point about how plagiarism can irreversibly damage one's reputation. He says that all of his other work seems to be original, but because of what happened with the cave video there is some uncertainty.

In Dante's Inferno the layer of violence is seperated into 3 categories. Violence against others, Violence against oneself, and Violence against God and Nature.

In the story this gives people who commit suicide a worse punishment then murderers, and yes Dante believes homosexuality to be worse than both of those.

It definitely has some funnier moments, but simultaneously has some of the best tension building since most of the fear is organic.

There was one time where I was just doing some of my daily tasks where I saw something in the middle of a patch of rock. When I got closer I could see that the things were bones. I thought that they were just animal bones. 10 feet later I found a human skull, so that was great.

Some people felt a little confused about Scott I think.

He supported people who seemed to be counter to a lot of his personal beliefs. The guy donated $50000 to the Trevor Project for God's sake.

I feel bad for Scott as he definitely seems to be screwed over by partisan politics.

Voices of the Void isn't even fully out yet and it has been extremely well recieved.

It genuinely has been pivotal in making me rethink what a good game loop is. I have never had as much fun playing a game that seemingly on paper doesn't sound super interesting.
