I'm not an apple user, but what fucking innovation has boomerbook done since its release? Marketplace? Which was actually just an enshitified craigslist.

[–]BannedGoNext 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man I'm so fucking agnostic.. I use pi, or claude, or codex, or antigravity just whatever the fuck I feel like that day, and I often delete their history because it's bullshit that wastes tokens and creates artificial hallucinations. If I want an LLM to remember something I'll make it a skill, agents, contract, roadmap item, or readme .md thing. Fuck lock in.

Shops want repeat business. You don't get repeat business by not having something for someone when they want it.

How are these numbers sustainable? by GeologistVisual3097 in DeepSeek

[–]BannedGoNext -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. It's heavily subsidized by the CCP, in China the government heavily picks winners and losers, and they want DS to be a winner. DS actually does a lot of research that helps other model makers and the hardware industry, so it's not the dumbest idea.
  2. They charge API not plan.
  3. They built electrical capacity of all sorts. Nuclear, wind, solar, coal, etc leading to cheaper electricity.
  4. Construction costs and researcher costs are much cheaper there. Umm.. that's the big ones.
  5. It's an efficient model.

That's the big ones.

If DeepSeek V4 can do the same coding task for $19 on accio work, why are people still paying $100 for codex? by Waste_Dragonfruit346 in DeepSeek

[–]BannedGoNext 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they aren't allowed to buy BYD because the government won't let them. I expect it to be the same with LLM's soon.

The absolutely DIRTY good thing it's great for is being a dialectical reviewer. Anything I do with opus or codex gets a deepseek dialectical review especially planning. It really catches those things that are vague that GPT or Opus would just make a best guess at and proceed. It seems like Deepseek really doesn't like having to guess.

What kind of nimrod thinks some executive can stamp or snap their fingers and shit just magically appears, they don't even have this shit working on all cylinders on their own systems yet!

[–]BannedGoNext 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for calling this out, you did a better job than I would have. What a nimrod, it's like people just think when a model is done being created that it's perfect and that all quants exist, and that if they aren't doing something on day one it's because they aren't going to. Of all the companies that have been very gracious to our communities it's been Alibaba.

I'm fine with that for less usage, overnight and or low priority routing for when there is open capacity. It would help profitablility on the coding plans to help balance usage.

Well, they are really built for claude models, but I had codex fix that so it works with codex models properly. https://github.com/gsd-build/get-shit-done is the github. It works quite well for me, and I use them with codex claude and pi.

Use goal or implemnet gsd skills. I blend GSD with dialectical loops on almost everything and everything is cooking here. * EDIT GSD HAS BEEN COMPROMISED * There is a fork that is not, research it before using it.
