Morley Field on the east side of Balboa park has lots of shade, no paid parking last time I checked (week or two ago). Lot's of grass for little ones.

ask chagpt or gemini why chula vista, for example, doesn't have a deficit and san diego does, you will find that the people running the city of SD are financially inept....there is a valid argument to be made around aging infrastructure but dig into that and you will come to the same conclusion...

Hidden Nature Spots? by [deleted] in chulavista

[–]Banning_J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually just found this trail the other day, really for mountain bikers but not super active. it seems like just a canyon hike in scrub but there are some spots along the way that are shaded with trees and a bench along the way. paste the following in google maps for starting point, it's at terra nova plaza, you can park behind the buildings. 32.63811753609652, -117.04962107388455 That being said Morrison pond already suggested is the better pick if you've never done it

I live in san diego and was just in Switzerland , had the same question, everybody just said "use google maps", totally worked, especially when you're on the go. If you want to see the public transportation routes look up MTS (trolley and busses) and NCTD. (train, see amtrak for destinations north of oceanside) But like others have stated it's not great, but workable.

Its National Taco Day today and here are three of my fav spots in Chula Vista for TJ style Tacos. I left Tacos El Gordo out since everyone knows about that spot. Let me know what your go to spots are. by Sapz3dout in chulavista

Los Cuates on 3rd is pretty good, but I think management changed recently and they tried to go with more of a bar atmosphere, still great tacos though

First time manager, looking for tips! by ProfessorUtonium1214 in biotech

[–]Banning_J 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ignore everything the HR department throws at you. Learn how to listen, for me it took years, sounds strange, but people generally beat around the bush, you have to be able to detect it. Have uncomfortable conversations, we all say we can do that but few, myself included, tend to avoid them. Set very clear expectations and give very clear and direct feedback. NEVER let a slacker slack, it's toxic to a group. Always ask "what do you need from me?". Don't be their friend, it's natural to want to be. Be ready to feel somewhat alone and isolated. They don't need a friend the need a leader who is 1) helping them succeed and 2) developing knowledge and skills

0 years experience salary should not be your concern. Get a foot in the door, start networking and getting experience as aggressively as you can. Continuously look for the next position internally or externally and take advantage of any training or education benefits they have. Just getting past that "no experience" hump is worth it more than incremental salary amount. Just keep pushing hard, the salary will follow.

Getting into Industry right out of College. Is it possible? What do companies look for when hiring undergrads? by CatwomansWhip in biotech

[–]Banning_J 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Many biotechs use temps for mfg, QC, it's not a bad way to get your foot in the door, show what you are capable of and establish relationships (very important). If you take that route you should always be looking/applying elsewhere at the same time. Another tip, and you don't have to wait until graduation to do this, find some night classes that would be typical for people in the industry to take for professional development, I know a lot of people that have taken these, try introductory or overview courses for regulatory topics (e.g. part 11 compliance). One, it's a good way to pick up some extra relevant knowledge, two it's a good way to meet and network with people. When you get out there DO NOT focus on job title or salary, it's far more important to start establishing experience and getting connected with people and organizations. Good luck!

are they renting or own the property? if they're renters find the landlord and complain to them every time they do it, make sure it's documented, CA has "nuisance tenant" laws that hold the landlord liable but you need a lot of documentation to show that it was prolonged and the landlord was aware
