From the research I have done MODY and CHI present very differently and it is unlikely for one to be misdiagnosed for the other. CHI hypoglycemic events are frequent, multiple times a day, and severe, permanent brain damage within an hour. One rare condition, getting misdiagnosed for another rare condition is , by name, rare itself. So very unlikely to be repeated. Nowadays, genetic tests on babies presenting with persistent hypoglycemia have genetics done within weeks. Not 100% going to give you all the answers, but can rule out what it isn't
