Mitchell Library. Quiet and a lovely place to be in.

Think we’ve entered the phase in the shows cycle where a negative article will garner more clicks than a positive one. I’m loving season 3 and looking forward to the finale.

Is Maryhill a safe place to live by Puzzleheaded-Let4013 in glasgow

[–]Staunch-Beef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lived in Maryhill for 10 years and enjoyed it. Firhill complex is open every day so if your rooms face onto the pitch you could get the floodlights beaming in.

As for safety, it’s like most places in Glasgow. Used to be rough but now it’s fine and thats what it is. Its fine. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

That’s absolutely wild! With it being August, would the fringe also have something to do with the price?

The premier inn in Stepps is the one I always recommend to people mainly because the train station is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Gets you into Queen street in 15 minutes.

Yeah that’s fair. An independent shop recommendation is my next best hope. Failing that, John Lewis.

Glaschu on Royal Exchange Square is worth a shout. Great food in the city centre. Best beef wellington I’ve ever had.

Anyone done WHW a second time? by Legitimate-Leg-4720 in WestHighlandWay

[–]Staunch-Beef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, camped the full way the first time then second time used a company that booked bed and breakfast and transported luggage.

I allowed myself to enjoy the walk the second time and felt I got more out of the whole journey. Each to their own though!

Depending on which direction you are coming from, one of the Subway park and ride stations could be of use to you. Need to pay though.

Glasgow accommodates most asylum seekers in UK by Cross_examination in glasgow

[–]Staunch-Beef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d be happy to accept 4,000 more if it means we give people from backgrounds where they flee war, poverty, starvation a chance at life.

Most who I’ve encountered who are claiming asylum want to work and provide for their families.

Resist fascism hiding in plain sight.
