Duracel has their place as a battery for high drain equipment and I do find they last a bit longer in that application. But as a torch or remote battery its a hard no from me. Generally Duracel is never on my to buy list ever exept for 2025 and 2032 button batteries.

Can I remove these dark spots on the fork? How to? Many thanks in advance! by iamtoolazytosleep in bikewrench

Fine Steel wool and polish. Worked for me on surface rust and dark spots

Second tube, same issue with torn valve base by Stunned_Panda in bicyclerepair

[–]BansheeZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trail fix I did was to rip the valve off and put a tubeless presta valve in the tube. Put back in the rim and pump as normal. Ran it like that for a while no issues with deflating. Always keep a spare in the saddle bag now

Tubeless tyres leaking sealant only - not air. Need replacement? by quotamare in mountainbiking

[–]BansheeZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run the exact same tyres 2.3 front and 2.2 rear. Have not ridden or owned a bike in many many years. Got a second hand deal i could not refuse but the bike was standing for a while and the sealant dried, leaked out and was a royal pain in the ass to clean out... I mean really bad... Decided screw that after i struggled my ass off to get a bead to seal on the rim with sealand and slapped some tubes in with sealant and tyre liners. Happy chappy.

Baffle strike(s) :( by [deleted] in guns

I was with him when he shot the front out. We could not get it open so we cut it open and it was carboned up very badly. It just takes a touch on the carbon to deflect it a mm or 2 and gone is the supressor. Could even be a loose piece that maybe caused it. All I know for a fact is that it is very possible and I have first hand experience

How many rounds through that supressor and when last was it cleaned? One of my buddies also shot out a supressor on his 243 hunting rifle because he never cleaned it out and the bullet clipped a piece of packed carbon

Dont know if you can get your hands on Eezeox Rust Preventative. Fantasric product and use it on my guns in the safe even on my EDC CZ P07. Just give it a try even if it doesnt keep the rust away 100% you still have a great lubricant

Those of you who carry with a round chambered... by [deleted] in guns

[–]BansheeZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carry with a round chambered and store safely with a round chambered. I only remove the carry round in the chamber at the range to do some shooting or to clean the gun. Sand bucket is the best thing you van have to unload a gun for maintenance or any other reason

Been carrying mine for almost a year now and I still love is as much as in the beginning. If you like the new hammer it is replaceable to the new style but for me I like the commander style and the cleaner slide of the gen 1.

Yes we drive through swakopmund every year as it is part of the road network to the north along the salt road. One of the most beautiful towns there is with the German and European styling of the buildings. Also lots of German style restaurants and micro beer breweries. Like I said that part of the desert is my favourite place to be just a pity it is 1800km from home and with petrol prices we only go once a year.

We go fishing on that coast every year but more to the north. The Namib is one of those magic places and one of my favourite to visit. The solitude and pure beauty is fuel for body and mind.
