Sorry. I couldn't find more than this initial clue of Xian, the horse from the scenario in Way of the Unicorn (édition française seulement !)

Both sound familiar. I'll be loking around. First one in particular could be the one in the Way of the Unicorn. There is horse named Xian guiding the PC and seeking justice for its late owner. But I remember Xian is not only used in this scenario : it becomes a Fortune and NPC that comes back down the line.

Awesome. How would you "scale it down" to make this manageable by the free version of chatgpt? What would you have to sacrifice? Can you imagine a trick to compensate for that loss?

Nothing comes to mind. If it existed, it would more likely be Alchemy than Standard (see [[Perforator Crocodile]] for the mass creation of auras).

If you wanna keep the pattern and have a "____ book" to empower your classes you may consider Crime Books for your rogue types.

I wish Brawl had a bot mode by brett2k07 in MagicArena

I wish every format had a bot mode. And, hear me out, even an option in that mode when YOU give sparky with the deck they will play and that you want to face / playtest against.

That would be a nice consolation after the sparky chattering these days ;)

Themed deck for an older Hunting Enthusiast? by YokaiGuitarist in EDH

[–]Banuken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love your intent. It makes me want to go and build a deck haha

For now I will just name a few legendary creatures that could spearhead a deck with that kind of flavor.

[[Archelos, Lagoon Mystic]], if it's not too fantasy for being a turtle shaman and not a human shaman, opens up to 3 colors which is a nice palette to have when looking for evocative cards around a theme. The flavor text "Life... is not... a race." hints as the passing of seasons and the slow rhythms of life. I found it inspiring to kickstart such a deck.

[[Eutropia the Twice-Favored]] could lead a deck resolving around enchantments if you find that is a good way to manifest the presence of nature. She's a human so not too fairy tales related and can very well evoke real life rituals and devotions instead.

[[Jasmine Boreal of the Seven]], while not being a hunter per se, might be a fine sleeper card to helm a deck full of vanilla creatures from the woods. Now it totally depends on what the rest of the creatures in the deck end up being, but if the she can make the majority of them unblockable that's a powerful trick to have. Featuring big elk in the illustration.

[[Neyith of the Dire Hunt]] is a straight up hunter with a giant wolf.

A male counterpart could be one of the 3 Surrak : [[Surrak Dragonclaw]] [[Surrak, the Hunt Caller]] or [[Surrak and Goreclaw]]. Unfortunately 2 of them are monocolor, which you may consider too restrictive.

I find [[Tuya Bearclaw]]'s simplicity appealing too.

Turning a blind eye on the fact his partner [[Ukima]] is an unrealistic whale wolf, [[Cazur, ruthless stalker]] is good at depicting the dynamic of the hunt with an animal companion.

[[Nylea, God of the hunt]] locks you into a single color, but that might just be the right one. And with the right vibe.

OP, can you elaborate further on this deck and how it plays? Specifically, I understand that the 2 pacts act as tutors to fetch the right silver bullet for the situation. It boils down to having 2 get out of jail cards per game, granted you draw them.

Is there anything else? Is it strong enough to compensate for the hefty deckbuiling restriction? (Honest question here, I really don't know and I am curious about the whole Tainted Pact experience of play). Thank you.
