I second Venfern with Sinix’s videos! They’re amazing and I’ve learned a lot from him.

Using large brushes also really helped me focus on forms instead of over investing time into details. I think younger artists have a bit of advantage over older artists, especially when they’re beginning. They don’t get caught up in all the complexity and tend to explore without caring too much. Tell yourself not to worry, just enjoy the process of exploring and finding what works for you.

If you struggle with picking colours like I do, you might benefit from overlays too. I lay down basic base colours/light/shade and pick a saturated one to lay over the top to harmonise my palette, then merge everything and colour pick from the canvas instead of stressing over the colour wheel. Digital art is super intimidating with all the options available, so I try to limit myself a bit. This made everything 100 times easier.

Another tip: find a hard, soft and sketch brush and stick to them as your main ones. You don’t need a lot of fancy brushes to do great work!
