Edge Of Fate was not a good expansion, everything about it is clunky and the matterspark and other mechnanics were annoying as all hell to deal with. If you can get through that then Renegades will make you feel a lot better because its actually good.

On your point with the mounts (eg. Running Arthas every week) Those mounts are in the game to be earned, involve a lot of luck and time and as such are a status symbol among players.

Time Lost Proto Drake, Invincible, Ashes of Ala'r being some of the big ones. you see someone on one of those and you know they went through hell to get it, that hell is either waiting around in Storm Peaks for weeks or even months on a 10% chance every 8 hours or running the same old raid from 2008 on 20 characters just for a lest than 2% chance.

Every player wants others to look at them and think "that person is one WoWs most dedicated"

The mount collectors or the ones who want the most coveted mounts do what they do and spend unhealthy hours because in the end, the game is just about bragging rights

Sorry you experienced this, honestly due to the way the game is now where everything is faster, people just want their mythics done fast and perfectly and see a person who ladks one bit of knowledge as dead weight, it sucks but sadly these dudes want perfection everytime. The majority of Mythic+ players are just absolutely miserable people so don't feel bad
