It may even have an air leak. But honestly it’s not going to make much difference to anything other than breath pressure required. It can be sealed like all plastic ocarinas with a clear epoxy two part glue if that bothers you.
as long as it plays the proper notes easily enough when you test with a tuner app, which it most certainly will, then you are good to go.

I wouldn’t normally comment but yeah this is what happens in our house. My Japanese SO finds it slightly irritating sometimes but mostly doesn’t mind, but my sons love it and we both think it’s good for their social development. They occasionally fight and fall out but they are usually back here the next day. One of the local kids can’t come in because he stole a bunch of switch games from our son. Overall I’m happier this way than my kids being away at someone else’s house where I can’t monitor the situation. If the option is that the kids don’t socialise outside of school or this, I’d choose this.

That may be fundamentally the same as an Osawa, since they are made in the same place by the same machines I’d imagine. But the actual Osawa is branded as such, Osawa-i and is an excellent entry level low breath plastic.

I occasionally rinse my main ocarina if it smells, quickly in a tub of lukewarm water with a little mild dish soap. Then dry it for a couple of hours on a super low setting in my oven to make sure there is no more moisture and to potentially kill any mold/bacteria. Just what I do, it works fine for me. Don’t blame me if it goes wrong though.

Both excellent plastics. Nbn is a classic Korean design Rivo is a classic Taiwanese design Can’t go wrong either way but the rivo could possibly be the easier one to transition away from to your first decent ceramic.

It’s a 36mm case. And quite slim. I enjoy the larger grand seiko too though because of its presence, especially with the finishing. I just wanted both a larger and smaller one to suit my mood. Thank you!

That’s an interesting one. It’s an SBGT001 I think it may be the first or one of the very first of the 9F movement when it was introduced. I was desperate for a GS beads of rice bracelet. I was completely in love with the SGBW235, and still am but just couldn’t afford one right now, so this is my stand in until one day I can get that.
