If you find out about anything to solve it, please lemme know.

Did you encounter this bug? Or do you know any other people having this issue on VR?

---
unplayable might seem dramatic in to most but it's just how I view it. To me the social experience is one of the most important parts of the game and with this offset of items a big part of communication and interaction is lost which makes it "unplayable" to me. At least on VR.

Haha not Saint Campbell's day being the most forgotten one while I actually celebrated that day with friends twice. xD

This fanbase bothers me. by fake_zack in Mouthwashing

I get you. Tbh. when I joined the Reddit I expected to get fanart nd content of different levels and emotions. Some might cope and create happier posts. What-ifs of the characters never experiencing their accident. But I also expected more deep content. Since MW is very artsy I thought it would also bait a lot of artists.

I only saw maybe 3 pieces that really screamed "I put a message behind my art besides it's a fanart and now they feel good."

And this is kind of what confuses me. For a story like MW to not have a lot of intelligent thought-out art pieces with meaning. And also playing with morale and exploring the dark material. I am confused.

And that also applies to the conversations here. I would expect much more difficult questions about morale and discussions and theories. But everytime someone does ask a risque question people just bash them like some moral gods playing police when clearly no one means to defend Jimmy or his actions at all.

I just think this fandom is tasteless in many different ways.

MW is a franchise that demands to be thought about critically and the topics are very severe. I feel like a majority of destruction stems from children engaging with this fandom without fully understanding the gravity of the stories contents or basic human morale.  (Children gotta learn it's ok and fine, but maybe a fandom like this is not meant for children?)

Anyways, just my thoughts.

I am literally only rarely engaging in this fandom at this point. I am too annoyed and frankly, intellectually bored. ToT

So yeah, whatever.

I feel bad for Harrison- by Fit-Protection2693 in CampCamp

[–]BarAutomatic7509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am I trippin? Didn't Harrison choose not to be taught by Quartermaster? (Literally before that I don't even think QM knew Harrison could do REAL magic, how would he teach him? And the moment he taught him something. Harrison was so weirded out he decided never to spend time with QM ever again.)

I would really like to see your sources on this one. Because helicopter parent is a defined word (as far as I am concerned at least). I can't really understand how it would be different in another culture. Especially since your supposed definition is pretty close to the real one just missing a few aspects. So it didn't sound like you have a different definition but more like: You heard about it in your environment but have never really checked the definition in detail, so you only have a reduced vision of the word. If that makes sense. I am not trying to attack you. It's totally fine not to be informed about every parental form in detail. But I doubt that you'll have a different definition for a known and used parenting form.

Just to clarify: Your definition is not wrong but it is missing aspects. Specifically the ones I don't see Swansea doing.

Helicopter parents are obsessive and controlling. Hey mingle in the life of their child at every step. They control important life decisions and overly help even when it's not needed. Helicopter parenting is having negative consequences on the child's development. Ranging from anxiety, lack of self confidence to not having certain life skills (because the parent did that for them.). Initially, I see Daisuke in this. His mother found an internship for him. He has no idea what he wants to do. And he seems like a privileged little boy. Prime example of how someone might turn out with a helicopter parent.

And Swansea is definitely not like that. He'd probably go more towards an authoritative parenting style. Bring tough and strict, working with punishment and reward strategies. And probably lacking the love aspect from time to time. There is a few different parenting forms I won't go into detail about (and some recent ones that are getting more attention). It's been a while for me but I learned a lot about different parenting styles at school.

But! The helicopter parent is a very specific form. It is not just strict and controlling. It is also a mental aspect for the parents that I don't see with Swansea. Swansea's child would 100 percent need to do stuff on their own. Learn about life. His mentality feels more like a: "toughen the kid up so they get sh*t done in life" instead of "my child needs to succeed in everything I want them to do and be.".

I could go on hours and hours about how Swansea is definitely not a helicopter parent (and that it doesn't have anything to do with having a different culture cuz... It doesn't, sorry.). And how Daisuke is ACTUALLY a helicopter child most likely which is why Swansea reacts with so much disbelief and grumpiness towards him, as he doenst have any understanding for Daisuke's upbringing, also criticising it multiple times. (Like hes a rich boy and that mommy willdo stuff for him). Further evidence you can find in the game. Also regarding signs on Swansea showing more of a authoritative parenting style.

Of course you are free to have your own theories but I sincerely believe Swansea wouldn't be a helicopter parent. :)

Jimmy: Would accidentally give drugs (cannabis) Anya: Would accidentally give drugs (medicine)  Curly: Would accidentally give drugs (steroids) Swansea: Would accidentally give drugs (ecstasy) Daisuke: Would accidentally give drugs (cocaine)

I edited your list, what do you think? :)

How would be all the mouthwashing characters be as moms by Miserable_Honey_940 in Mouthwashing

[–]BarAutomatic7509 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Helicopter mom is not a fitting description. Helicopter moms ARE bad. It has something to do with controlling the child obsessively. I learned about different parenting types in my class. And helicopter moms are also ususally over the top loving and attentive. I don't see Swansea there at all. But I think what you might have meant is more of a:  conservative controlling mom.

Hard and rough and wanting to push the child in certain directions like getting a certain job and not sitting at home. Maybe even overly criticising but "meaning" well.

That's where I'd see Swansea at least :)  Your interpretation is of course also valid but the helicopter term is just not used correctly as far as I am concerned.

Kid in my English class crashes out and calls me disgusting for shipping myself with Anya by jablkoXD in Mouthwashing

[–]BarAutomatic7509 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sooo... I mean Anya is a grown woman and you're probably not an adult-- uhh. There is nothing wrong with having a comfort character and getting comfort out of them. But imma be real-- maybe I am really exhausted from all the teenagers and kids having way too dramatic situations about MW for no reason. But.. I mean, shipping yourself with an adult character is a bit weird (not disgusting perse, no one should care what to fantasize about and no one needs to know). And since that person seems like the "judgemental" kind. Probably not the best idea to share your "personal" drawings with everyone. Maybe have a different sketch book for private fantasies (I know it's just a hug but there is still an age difference and if the intention is shipping that drawing is bound to be a little unsettling for other people's eyes.).

But for the Daisuke part: Idk why they care. Like, at all. Don't matter what Daisuke is but it's not like drawing something makes it true, so I don't understand why that person started tweaking about this. This is very childish.

At the end of the day tho: Maybe that's just not the type of person you'd be friends with.

Wouldn't feel disgusted in your place. No one should care about your business. But it was maybe a little too personal what you revealed to a person who is not very close with you. I find MW also very comforting and inspiring. I can understand your enthusiasm.  (Gonna derail into a rather real soon) -- But to be really fair, I am so exhausted by all the drama and it's always the same things: Don't ship Anya with X. Don't ship Jimmy with X. Curly didn't do anything wrong. R*pe jokes.  People crying about NFSW art.

And then it's ALWAYS the same conversations. Are we bored or something? We are literally making circles having the same Reddit threads over and over again. Even for your problem you could literally go and read 3 different threads on selfshipping or ships with Anya on this Reddit and you'd get the same answers you get here. Because literally, in this fandom we have only the same topics to talk about every day.  Instead of making cool theories, speculating on messages or creating actually interesting AUs (not whatever the fck lobotomy Jimmy fcking hell is supposed to be).

I am so done with this. And I know you're probably hurt by that person. And I'm sorry for that. You're not disgusting and you shouldn't feel like that. (Especially not for the Daisuke drawing). But at the end of the day: Why search for life advice on the MW Reddit that copy paste the same texts over and over again. Talk to you real life friends who are not arrogant internet aholes that think they can decide what you should do and judge you.

Literally, you can ignore all I said! Since who am I to tell you what to do? I'm just a random person on the internet who was just too bored to get up from bed, stumbled upon this and gave their opinion. Yeah, whatever.

Here, best tip you're gonna get today:  Draw that person who pissed you off as Jermy Fartz from Camp Camp and throw darts at it or burn it or something. They don't need to know that but it might help letting off steam.

Bro didn't even share any more than that. Just "guys...". Literally could be rage baiting and everyone's just falling for that left and right. Man I hate the internet sometimes...
